You've given America Only an intelligent answer.
That's not what he wanted.
He wanted you to say you hate liberals as much as he does.
Unless you're a total psychopath, you will never please AO.

I want to give life as it was unselfishly given to me. The reason I am here is to try and inject hope into our politics in this country. After my injuries and slow recovery, I finally began to notice how divided our nation was, and it was not all about snowboards or skis. Impossible to say now if I may make a difference, but I am here to try. I use these pictures of when I was younger as a symbol of my knowledge on politics.

Welcome aboard and at age 74 I am even more concerns for my children and my grandchildren. I thought a business man who had worked for a living might just be able to straighten this mess out might be the best bet. Also he was a natural born citizen where as Cruz and Rubio were not.

first thing you might want to do is learn as much about the constitution as you can and don't let anyone take that away from you at least that will be a good start

What is the point in saying I am pre-disposed or prejudice this way or that by such a declaration? I have to say I really do not understand. My mind, such as it is and I am blonde, cannot grasp the need to announce a clear bias of thought by the label of Left or Right. If as a Jew or atheist or Buddhist left for dead upon the road and someone gave me aid and comfort and exceptional care, would I object if I had known that person was a Samaritan, would I have refused? Pre-suppositions about other people can often hurt ourselves. Conservative or Liberal, we are still just humans. Why not approach everything as simply humans, not this or that type of humans. Let's work wholeheartedly for humanity, not some political interest or agenda. Too blonde? I will shut up now.
American Only brought up a great point I had not c... (show quote)

A little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and bravest thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.'

The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really. The lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.'
The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page. So, what do you do for a living, and what political affiliation do you have?'

The biker replies "I'm a U.S. Marine, a Republican and I voted for Trump".

The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

** U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT & STEALS HIS LUNCH. **

And THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days.

Can't laugh much as it's not that far from the truth.. 😯

Not blonde at all but overlooking the methodology of power. What you express in general is an ideal that remains utterly impotent. Like it or not, to be effective requires power and that requires agreement en masse and that requires compromise. Everyone must ultimately pick a side, even if not in full agreement with it.

This development may have something to do with why we don't get the truth from the news:

Very funny. I see it drew out a very typical response from Larry Payne.

Welcome aboard...........I was into my sixties before I started to wake up. My daughter bought me a book that started a two year history crawl that continues today. Learning about the fundamentals of western civilization and the true facts of the American founding was a revelation to me and gave me the tools to pass some knowledge on to my grandchildren.

Thank you. Isn't it amazing how things can change us, wake us up as you said. The world is this way and then it is that way. It was there all the time for us to see and then suddenly we had the eyes to see it. The idea of grace seems the only thing right now that fits. Somehow "touched by God." That it took literally destroying the world I felt most comfortable in and enjoyed was a blessing. Every fiber of my being would have fought against its destruction if I had the chance. Flying off an embankment when a ski caught an edge and I smashed into a tree twenty feet off the ground was not something one could plan to open their eyes. But even that would not have worked, I don't think, if I did not have the love of good people. When they, out of deep concern and immense frustration with my attitude, their patience severely frayed, christened me Winona Whyner, something clicked. Felt different but could not verbalize it. There was a shift. Oops. It's all about me, right? Going on and on. Thank you again, rebob14. It appears that your daughter's love for you connected her to grace. What a truly wonderful connection. God bless.

Opinions differ and tempers flare. It's better than the apathy and ignorance that infects most of the electorate. At least people here care enough to get pissed off. Since you showed your baby pictures, I thought I would show one of my first birthday. You see, I, too, was adorable. At least I think so. Welcome to OPP. Jump right in when you have something to say.

Lol, too very, very funny. I like you. Yes, truly adorable. Your profile is stunning. And I like the little wave you gave the audience as you plunged into existence. Show off.

The people of Colorado, to me, are great. They have an ironic spirit: opinionated yet self-deprecating. Always this touch of humorous self-reflection on almost any topic. Frank yet not belligerent. Something else I never noticed. All the good I overlooked or took for granted. It hurts sometimes. A memory will suddenly pop up where I missed by my self-absorption an opportunity to lighten some load or just lend a needed ear. I can only thank God for big, "angry" trees. Look forward to reading your posts. I sense you are quite the wise guy. But not mob affiliated.

I have four brothers: "potty-mouthed" would be a kindness to them. Thank you for the welcome. I have to say, however, I never expected such a kind reception. Really nervous. Kept checking every few minutes for a response. Then when I got one, took me about twenty minutes to read it. In my previous world, I was sure-footed, albeit not counting flying into a tree. Not so sure of myself anymore. But you all have been so nice to me. I really like it. Feel safe here.
