Where were all the original American leaders when all the meetings were taking place that determined the outcome of the decision? "God helps those who help themselves".
BTW, are you relying on only what you saw or heard in the media to form your opinion? Because many original American people who actually live there, and friends I know that actually live and work there and have had conservations with them, have a completely different opinion - they don't want the protesters there and they think the tribal leaders are corrupt and only care about themselves, not their people.
So tired of certain groups of people playing on the sympathies of certain other groups of people over 200 year old guilt to perpetuate certain types of policies that have done more harm to those certain groups but make them feel good about themselves. I guess guilt really IS the "gift" that keeps on giving.

It seems to me that you don't keep up with the news OR only that "news" that agrees with you. Are you not aware that the pipeline was supposed to be closer to a city primarily inhabited by whites. They didn't want it near them so therefore, it's alright to move it onto land that was "agreed with our government" to be part of the Native reservation.

I guess you have not read of the history of this great nation throughout which the original people were subjected to genocide This is just another instance where the Natives were either moved to or "awarded" some land only to have it removed it from them when it was discovered that that particular land had valuable minerals on it that Whities like you desired to make some money from (Black Hills - just in case you haven't heard of Black Hills gold). I'm ashamed that our pure WHITE government has not, at any time honored its agreements with Native tribes.

Go to the library and look up all the treaties broken with these people throughout our history. My goodness - former Europeans settling this land kept moving the Natives onto lands that were, at that time, not even sustainable for life. Please note that these same New People were immigrants.

They sure don't like it when someone refuses to be blackmailed by ancient guilt, do they? Pretty soon it's going to sink in that their methods of intimidation and manipulation aren't going to work anymore...I (and most Americans) don't give a shit anymore if they call me racist, or bigoted, or any other word they try and use to insult us into submission to their idiotic ideas or plans to change America.
