a couple days ago there was an article which was mentioning 'good manners'. Bottom line it was mentioned that texting was bad manners at the table.
Also it is bad manners to 'stab' your food with a fork.
Truly are there people out there who have nothing else more challenging than to suggest to people to not stab their food?

What happened to being grateful that there is something on the plate no matter how you get it in your face.
That is not the way I was raised. I guess I have the idea all food is good, some better but as long as there is nutrition and hopefully no fatal bacteria.
I guess the average person is too accustomed to having stuff handed to them that they can complain because some might stab their fool.
To be generous, I sincerely hope these people continue to have food to eat even if they used their fingers to get it in their mouth. Could we sort of deal with important issues like productive employment.

I eat my peas with honey;
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste kinda funny,
But it keeps them on the knife.

When I was a kid in Tennessee as soon as peas were matured, it was a trip to the garden to gather a bunch and shell them out. At the same time we 'robbed' some new potatoes from the hills so always peas and new potatoes as kind of a welcome to spring. I still shove my peas up against mashed potatoes to keep them corralled Never thought about honey but it would sure work.

Good to 'meet' you. My qual boat was Entemedor (SS-340) a Guppy IIA conversion which took # 2 main and the dinky out. Hardy-Tynes went into AER. FER got the hydraulics and reefer/AC plants plus some other misc stuff. We did the usual stuff, Med run, up north, even a week or two as school boat at NL and a bunch of PCO cruises. you can rack up the dives on these two things. Right? Entemedor was an EB so had Jimmies for our "reactors" I got corrupted in civilian and went nuke. Did 17 years as a shift sup in a 2 unit 1020 mw plant. 8 more years on 'day' shift doing computer stuff. Send message anytime.

Manners always matter. Proper eating edicate shows proper upbringing and class. If you don't know the difference you may as well use the bidet for a drinking fountain.

Forget it. On second thought. I do not disagree that manners are important. My thrust was wondering what is in the mind of people who make no reference to how fortunate that they have food and worry about which utensil to use and trying to control the masses by snot nosed rules. Your bidet reference is crude to even a submariner and does not portray a knowledge or use of manners. Your spelling does not impress me excessively either.

Mashed potatoes for keeping peas on the fork or knife. A little meatloaf doesn't hurt my feelings either. Mike

I do the mashed tater/pea thing myself! I'm also in with the meatloaf!👍 Also, there isn't much that can make my motor run like a sandwich made from left over meatloaf!😊
