Some times I wish I could just beat these people till there head falls off. I absolutely hate the idea of any one taking advantage of older folks.

Just the other day I got a call from the Supposed " IRS ". The caller .... which was a recording by the way .... told me I had criminal charges pending from them, and I was to call a certain number.
If I did not call within the next 6 hours they would have there attorney file charges and issue an arrest warrant. Just another scam I thought. Later that morning I had an appointment with my eye doctor.
While there, I took notice of the fact, there were several older people there also. In talking to them, I mentioned the phone call I had receive that morning. Two of them told me they had received the same call. One of them, .... an 85 year old gentleman,.... said he was going to go to his bank and draw out
several hundred dollars and send it to them. After I explained it to him, he was going to call the police and ask them, if it was true or not.

So please be carful all you senior's.

The IRS always sends letters to their people not phone calls.

Yeah, I too received the same call. I checked the number just after I got the call from them and what I got was: This number is not a working number... End of story. For the elderly that haven't kept up to all the scams that are out there, hopefully they have someone to confide in, or, call the IRS office nearest them. Family member, church pastor would probably give reliable info.

I received a call from the alleged, IRS. I noticed the caller had an indian accent. He told me he had a warrant for my immediate arrest due to unpaid taxes, but I could avoid the embarrassment if I paid them over the phone. I ask for his supervisor and he started screaming obscenities at me and ordering me to pay. So, I hung up, went to my computer, did a reverse number search, and located his address. I then called his local police dept. and told them that he's been scamming people and the conversation I had with him. They informed me that they have been trying to locate this guy for awhile, but his address never showed up. I still wonder if he ever answered that knock on his door!
By the way, his true address did not show up under the number, it appeared in the complaint section.

it bothers me that you think just us old guys are at risk to these scams
I have personally received hundreds of them .On the phone and on the internet
I still have all my money(what little is left)
methinks
that you younger guys are just as much at risk(if not more so)than us "old Guys"
after all we have had more experience than you

If a man who has money does business with a man who has experience, the man with the experience will soon have the money and the man who had the money will have the experience.

I've also received a few calls from them. Just remember this -- the US Government doesn't call you on the hone. They use SNAIL MAIL.

Another phone call I received at least once a week is someone offering to "give" you a "personal alarm. If you want one of these, there are places where you can purchase one. Yes, they "give" you the alarm and then charge you $30+ per month to activate it. Better to have a neighbor to call when in trouble OR there is always Emergency.

Well bobby I don't know what to tell ya, except that I am delighted you think I am one of those younger fallers. And actually, I don't feel a day over 60. All I can tell you is, I won't see 80 again after Feb 10th. But what the hell, they tell me it's all in the head. I fully retired in 1979.
And I am busier now than when I was working full time. And loving every minuet of it.
Because I get to do what ever the hell I want to do. No hurry and do this or that. No time frame to worry about, and no one telling me, I have to or else. They can all just go kiss my ass.

Being in a lot better shape than most of my friends, I see first hand what letting you self fall into that Oh I'm so old syndrome gets you. My body may not be able to do what It did when I was younger,
but that's OK. I have learned to use my brain instead of my back.

And most important of all, I get to spend time with my great grandchildren, and grandchildren, and the children, as well as the rest of the family.

The only thing I have to say about getting old is, " I didn't think it would get here so fast."

But I still don't like the idea of those slimy bastards taking advantage of us older ones.

When your young, you at least got time to recover.

I'm sorry it bothers you, but really, I don't give a rip. You ware the same pants to get glade in.

Here's one for the older guys.
