In his inaugural address, our nation’s 45th President delivered a powerful populist message that reiterated many of the favorite themes from his successful campaign.

Obviously, our new President was sincere during his campaign and did not just recite popular themes to elicit votes. He does intend to give power back to the American people. In his 17-minute speech, President Trump accurately noted that “The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.” He promised that “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.”

The election of Donald Trump was a complete rejection of the typical political games that have ruined Washington D.C. and caused misery throughout the country. The President noted the new approach by making a promise to the American people, vowing that “The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action.”

After eight years of a smooth talker as President, thank goodness, the American people have Donald Trump, a man of action, in the White House.

Will President Trump deliver on his bold promises? Americans can take heart from the example of his presidential transition, the best in American history.

From the day of his election to the inauguration, Trump worked non-stop to deliver on his pledges to the struggling people of this country. His vow to “Make America Great Again,” was not just a slogan, but a true commitment to deliver hope and opportunity to a citizenry in need.

Despite constant media criticism and harassment, Trump assembled an outstanding cabinet filled with individuals of extraordinary talent. At first, he was criticized for taking too long with his appointments, but the rapidity of the selections easily outpaced recent administrations.

His critics also complained that he picked too many wealthy business magnates; however, these are exactly the type of people that the country requires right now. Our government desperately needs uniquely qualified people to lead departments that have been mismanaged for decades.

Trump understands the challenges we face. Instead of choosing a political hack like Hillary Clinton or John Kerry for the vital position of Secretary of State, he nominated former Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, a businessman with sterling international credentials, who has dealt with leaders in over 50 countries and successfully guided one of the largest corporations in the world. If confirmed, Tillerson has the skill set to transform the bureaucratic morass at the State Department.

Most importantly, during this transition, Trump delivered on the promise of “jobs, jobs, jobs” for the American people, more than any other President-Elect in our nation’s history. Per author and financial executive Joe Hoft, Trump created or saved 1.2 million jobs in the transition period. If he was this successful as President-Elect, undoubtedly, Trump will be able to deliver great results for the American people as President.

Immediately after his election, Trump began earnestly negotiating for the American people. The stunning job announcements continued this week. General Motors disclosed a new investment of $1 billion in U.S. plants and plans to create a total of 7,000 new jobs over the next three years. This will include more than 450 new jobs that will be created when truck axle production moves from Mexico to Michigan.

On Tuesday, Walmart announced that the company will hire 34,000 new workers this year and open 59 new stores and 160 new specialized training academies for 225,000 of their employees. The overall investment will reach $6.8 billion in new capital projects for the upcoming fiscal year. According to Walmart Executive Vice President Dan Bartlett, these investments will “have a meaningful impact on the country.”

In another positive development, the Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Group announced this week a planned investment of $3.1 billion over the next five years and is reportedly considering building an automobile plant in the United States.

These business decisions have certainly been influenced by Trump’s rhetoric, negotiation skills and threats of a “big border tax” against automakers that manufacture vehicles in foreign countries, but sell them domestically. These same skills have been on display in the “massive cost reductions” that Trump negotiated “on military purchases and more.” Whether it is saving taxpayer money or creating American jobs, Trump is committed to deliver “big stuff” for the long-suffering people of this country.

This triumphant transition has been orchestrated by a newly elected President, unique in American history. Not only is Donald Trump the first billionaire to be elected President, but he is also the first non-politician to be elected since Dwight Eisenhower in 1952.

Trump has a distinctive style that is controversial and has created enemies within the political establishment of both parties, Hollywood and special interest groups and, of course, the media. These political adversaries did not support him during his campaign or his transition and they certainly will not support him during his presidency.

Moving forward, Donald Trump needs to continue to focus on his goals and deliver on his promises, regardless of the political obstacles. As President, he will undoubtedly have to go around his many opponents and frankly communicate with the American people on Twitter. Trump’s enemies hate his frequent use of social media, but this method of communication allows him to evade the media filters and political roadblocks and deal directly with the only group that should matter to our new President, the American people.

After an amazing transition and an inspiring inaugural address, the American people should feel very optimistic as our new President begins his quest to “Make America Great Again.”

The best part of yesterday's event was when Trump asked Hillary Clinton to stand up and told those around to give her a round of applause and he said he respected her and her husband a lot. This action in itself says a lot; not only about the fake rhetoric used during election campaign against your opponent but it also speaks volumes of the close relationship that Trump has with the Clintons.

According to MSNBC this was the most disorganized inauguration (by conservative organizers) in modern history.

According to MSNBC Trump only spoke to "his" supporters, did nothing to motivate the middle class, said nothing to close the divide was arrogant and smug.

He said nothing to close the feaR's of liberals, afraid they will lose their healthcare insurance.

Trump did nothing of his promises "on his first day " start the wall, get jobs, and disappointed his supporters.

Trump’s cabinet picks are going to suck billions and billions of tax payer dollars, lining their pockets, only to be protected by billionaire Trump. The reason he became president was so he and his billionaire friends can get richer

Wonder why liberals are so twisted in the head? I don't think MSNBC in itself is to blame, But I do believe they heavily contribute with their (MOUNTAIN ) of blatant LIES.

I didn't think (myself ) inauguration day, was ever to be considered Trump's first "working" day. Seemed he was fairly occupied fRom about 8:00 in the morning until midnight bouncing from one inauguration function to another, ending in a military ball/dinner speech.
Yet liberals allow msnbc to spew blatant lies, such as Trump's do nothing first day.....

They make me sick with their lies, and fabricating news.

I feel the same about liberals that repeat their lies.

Overall the inaugural address made me mindful of two others that I have witnessed; JFK and Reagan. Both those men instilled a sense pride and inspired one to be proud to be an American (JFK being possibly the LAST Democrat who will ever do so) ... because they believed it in their hearts. I was most anxious to see if, having won, Mr. Trump would soften and at least partly accede to the Washington establishment to signal that all will be well, I was just kidding... He didn't. He kicked them all in the teeth ... and reaffirmed his promises to the American People. And then he tops it off with the Battle Hymn of the Republic ... and dances with his beautiful (naturalized immigrant - how American is that?) First Lady to My Way ...

I think I can grow to really like this guy!

The seeming administrations "peaceful transition," may-well be a head-fake, Rivers. (D)ivert America's attention from the "fundamental transformation" ideology and agenda by smiles, warm and friendly hugs and air-kisses and hand-shakes up the ying-yang; and "Barry's" new (D)ecided move back to Chicago? rather than setting-up a "shadow" government right - sorry, "left" down-the-block from the WH, in a BIG (D)onators liberal progressive loaned 20 room mansion, certainly has America - (D)isarmed. Hummmmmmmmmm. If anyone thinks they {the radical secular liberal progressive Marx/Alinskyite cabal} are going to roll-over and (D)isappear {as they now SEEM to be (D)oing}, after working and slaving, 24/7/365, {for about a hundred and twenty years}, to "fundamentally transform" our "Shining Light on the Hill" to a more "utopian" Marxist regime, when they were soooooooooooooo close, {one election away}, is (D)reaming. Hummmm, again. And for those who (D)ream, I have a few bridges in NY and a few lakes in Michigan that I'm selling at bargain basement prices; and plenty more where THEY came from. The 24/7/365 radical Marxist wheels are turning behind the {iron} curtains at warp-speed. There are a few small riots in a few places in America to keep our eyes focused away from the (D)isplaced POTUS, Czars, former Cabinet Members, "devout" Advisors and the previously "appointed," radically and aggressively "(D)evout" (D)irectors of out Intelligence and military; and they will NOT go "softly into the night." The focus IS, and always WILL-BE {until success or incarceration}, on attempting to (D)ismantle and (D)eligitimize President Trump and our free-market Western civilization. No ifs ands or buts. What "WE" did to the current administration will be fatal to their radical Marxist ideology and agenda; AND THEY CAN'T STAND IT. The "lap-dog, state-run, alphabet channel" media had computer-drawn, DARK "spin" for EVERYTHING that President Trump could have possibly said in his Inaugural speech, and had pre-linked it to every horrible, un-American, anti-Semitic, fascist actor in the past; before the speech was a minute old. They haven't yet come to the conclusion that President Trump is as-much shielded by the "Armor of God," as when he was candidate Trump; and everything the radical secular liberal progressive Marxist regime throws at President Trump, the faster and more (D)ebilitating the "backfire." The crying, screaming, boohooing, sniveling, wailing, whining, weeping, riots, looting, "PIG" killing, arson, vandalism, protesting and violently (D)emonstrating, is just quadrupling-(D)own on why "WE" booted their asses-out in the first place!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!!

It's ingrained, PZ. There can be no other logical explanation. A lib is a lib, because, because!!! And "loony/jackass" (D), was not attributed to their ideology and agenda for nothing!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP (R)!!! I'm sure the honey and roses presentation to the back-stabbing (D) regime {who "WE" just unceremoniously booted-out of the WH}, by President "45" Donald J. Trump, was to be able to be uninterruptedly and skillfully headed directly to the WH after the Inauguration, to enact a few "Executive Order" retractions and reversals of every stinking (D)amn unconstitutional "obamanation" the radical Marx/Alinsky regime has enacted in the "lame-duck" period since Hillary LOST THE ELECTION!!! ONE MORE TIME - GO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!! It certainly seems that the "honey and marshmallow" crap worked!!! The "pen and tweeter {phone}," were going a mile-a-minute!!! YIPPI YI YO KAYAH!!!

"President Trump presented such a graceless and disturbingly ahistoric vision of America on Friday that his Inaugural Address cast more doubt than hope on his presidency."

He will surely do nothing but use his power to make himself and his cronies richer. How can this man possibly be in touch with the working class of this country? People who ate up his BS are going to be sorely disappointed in their choice for POTUS. He's a con man.

AAAAhhhh, dude.......

The election and transfer of power to an American president is of world wide concern, the world is watching and the world is nervous.

You don't air the dirty laundry of American politics on the world stage, that is not presidential, it looks petty and does not instill confidence.

Get a clue.

It is not the job of the president to prosecute criminal offenses.
That is the job of his different department heads, offices and agencies. Right now all those things are filled with Obama and Hillary minions, ready to throw a monkey wrench into any investigation and leak any information they can to help the Clinton's.

These offices need to be cleaned out and all of his cabinet nominees haven't even been approved of yet. Let alone gotten to work.

Just because your ignorant and impatient, that does imply anything bad about Trump.

Presidents don't have fairy dust or magic wands, there is a procedure for doing theses things and if you were paying attention you'd see that Trump is on track and doing exactly as he said he would, faster than any president before him.

In this country a person is innocent until proven guilty and that goes for the Clinton's as well. President Trump is obligated to uphold all laws, not just the ones you happen to like, nor does he have the authority to ignore the ones you don't like.

We are a nation of laws and not men.

Trump made that very public statement, that clears the way for any prosecution of the Clinton's later.

Trumps enemies, can't say that any prosecution of the Clinton's is politically motivated and driven by revenge, because Trump has already said that he respected her and her husband a lot.

So that puts him out of it and leaves it to the proper agencies to handle.
So the real question is, did he put the right people in charge of those agencies.
Do they have the moral fiber to do what's right?

I believe they do, but, that doesn't mean that the public should sit back and wait forever.
Trump's people need time to clean out these offices and get them in order, then it will be up to the public to start making their demands.

This is the big leagues now.
Your not not playing ball in the vacant lot down the street.

It's time to get your head in the game!

Horseshit! That speech was great! It put all of Congress on notice that there is REAL change coming, and it will be good. He said EXACTLY what needed to be said, and didn't use wishy washy 'feel good' bullshit that you liberals love so much. Suck it up buttercup, you lost. Now, sit back and relax, and watch A REAL president go to work and make this country great again. And, if you don't like it, pack up and move outta the country!

He will surely do nothing but use his power to make himself and his cronies richer. How can this man possibly be in touch with the working class of this country? People who ate up his BS are going to be sorely disappointed in their choice for POTUS. He's a con man.

I don't get it ? You use a short editorial instead of your own words of dissatisfaction it seems you lack the ability to post your own thoughts just as you lack the ability of judgement ..

AAAAhhhh, dude....... br br The election and tran... (show quote)
