In sociology class we were taught that the government has more influence over us then we have over the government. To get America back on that foundational track of decency, integrity, and Christian morality we should have an hour a week mandatory, from 1st grade through university, of a discussion class on why morals, ethics, values, personal responsibility, reliability, accountability, honesty and discipline is important to the individual and our society. Also to include the 'Logic of Creationism' over evolution.

Ben Carson should have been put in charge of education. He is the only one with sufficient wisdom to institute such a plan.

And a large plaque at the entrance of every school with the Ten Commandments. And open school with prayer the way we did when I was in school.

Excellent idea! I like it a lot. It solves a myriad of problems that exist now and are predictable on down the road a ways. One little, tiny detail does spring to mind though: Where will you find a large enough group of public school teachers with a good enough understanding of that 'foundational track of decency, integrity, and Christian morality' you so presciently recommend? Add in ethics, values, personal responsibility, reliability, accountability, honesty and discipline... Well, as they say in New York; fuggedaboudit! You'd have better luck finding a 14 year old virgin in Chicago.

Then there's the universities; have you heard the totally disconnected lunacy being spouted by these so-called college professors of today? Is there a single one among them who has even a tiny iota of decency, integrity or moral fiber in his entire being? Judging by what comes out of their mouths, I think not.

On top of that, you want to include the 'Logic of Creationism' over evolution? Most of these people are atheists, or at best have no religious grounding, and you want to force them to preach the logic of creationism when they deny even the existence of a Creator? That's like telling Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk to issue gay marriage licenses. Ain't happening, or, as my 18 year old son would say; good luck with that.

I really do like this idea, but it will not fly as long as we have government controlled education in our schools. Although, if you could somehow tie it in with 'common core'.......

Those are some good points you bring up to show the difficulty of instituting such a program. These concepts are so foreign to the ideology of those who would be having to lead the class. Obviously however, they are in even greater need of having their thinking being put on this track, then their students. A lesson plan, of course, would be needed to help these deluded and misguided, godless and wisdomless, arrogant and narcissistic, politically hedonistic morons get out of the common core mode and into a common sense self-control, rather than self empowerment mindset.

As far as creationism versus evolution, understanding which is correct is simple with a little common sense exploration of how all flying creatures came into their individually specialized aerodynamic abilities slowly over millions of years with those finely tuned appendages starting from nothing and slowly developing with no intelligent planner directing at all. If you have a brain in your head at all, you don't need anyone telling you that the very idea of that being a possibility is a total absurdity.

I rarely come out talking about God, Jesus, salvation in the Bible because people have heard it all before and are not ready for that. They need the foundational understanding of the things I mentioned to understand how the real world works, that it is the battle between good and evil that is going on and that each of us has to make a choice of which side we are going to be on. Only then are they ready to understand their own nature and the concept of needing salvation. Only then can they see for themselves why Christianity is true and correct and that the Bible is in the representative of, and inspired by the creator.

I understand that, and if salvation were never taught from scripture, the lessons from old testament, psalms and proverbs are life long lessons of wisdom, ethics, science, morals, history and much more.
I could add it is though the holy spirit the understanding of salvation comes, we are seed planters.

I think the Ten Commandments should be taught, it has been the basis for our morality for a long time now.
Each of the Commandments should be explained and examples shown.
Requiring even this will raise feathers, but they should be plucked.
Neither creationism or evolution should be required study, but should be available as optional study.
You just can't push religion, that's what the muslims do!
Just my thoughts, I am not a Bible thumper but I have respect for them.

Your right on. I didn't explain myself very well. When the bible was first used as text book in our earliest public schools, religion was not the prime objective of teaching, however majority where either Christian or had respect for the wisdom in the pages.
We could have over one hundred lessons, and never be "pushing" religion, creation, ect.
I do think a basic understanding of creation can be offered in order to offer balance of teachings in the sciences
