Yes Linda in a sense you are correct. In all my years on "OPP" I have never seen so much attention devoted to one insignificant subject such as "liver & onions, of which brings to mind my two favorite "brain lite" guys and their day to day thoughts. Nothing like a little humor to liven up one's day..

Lololololololololololll, very good Pappa and good morning to you..
Nowwwww, do you like liver and onions???

love em !! however I do it my way. of which I only use a 'iron skillet' it is also good for most any kind of cooking. A good skillet is likened to a good woman. Keep your cooking 'low and slow' and not too much grease. , and don't forget the wine, none of that cheep stuff that Fred Sanford offers to the ladies.

For nearly 22 years now, my wife has refused to allow liver to reside in our fridge because she is disgusted by it. The fact I have allowed many disgusting substances to reside there is irrelevant. You know, cottage cheese, yogurt, 2% milk, oysters one time.

Anyway, I made my stand today, and have 4 slices of calves liver in there now, and was wondering if any of you can tell me the best way to cook it. Onions too. Liver, and onions.
My grandmother made the best ever! The stuff I get in restaurants just isn't like hers was.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly since I'm cooking it tomorrow. Win lose, or draw!

Yuk! Go vegetarian, it's better for you. And besides, eating animals is just a step away from cannibalism.

The toughest 10 minutes I ever had was trying to go vegan. They rushed me to a nearby steakhouse. Saved my life.

We got about 4 inches on top of our ice. I went to work, and got my backside reamed by the women in my life for doing it!😩 I plan on taking a rasp to my daughter's sharp tongue next time I see her!😬
Boy, that ice storm sure did tear some stuff up! I talked to people today who might not get power back for a week!

You're a vegetarian huh? Do you drink alcohol? If not, you should have a good, clean liver with no gamey taste. Where do you live?

Only on rare occasions, do I drink alcohol, Archie. I live in Illinois. I'm not a vegan, I drink milk, eat eggs, cheese and just about everything else but meat. In all honesty, it's difficult being a true vegetarian. My policy is, I never, intentionally, eat meat.

Well, Richard, if that works for you that's great! I'm happy for you! I like meat myself. I also like a lot of veggies, and dairy products. Except cottage cheese. That is something that went bad, and someone figured out how to sell in order to reclaim their investment.

Yeah, I heard that about cottage cheese also. Something about milk going bad, as a caravan crossed the dessert, resulting in cottage cheese. LoL However, I like cottage cheese.

I can respect that. My wife likes it too, and she's still my friend. Except for cooking uses, she can't stand buttermilk. That helps us maintain our friendship I think.

Please tell me that you don't like buttermilk!

Once a month pour buttermilk into the septic tank and it will keep it clear and "balanced".

Buttermilk was suggested in one of the recipes donated to your cause. Kinda explains why soaking the liver in buttermilk would do the liver some good.
