Mrs.B knows Archie. ....she knows how it's done.

Tell her to try a thick hunk of veal super rare.......ya can't cook the look of betrayel off the little thing, so why bother

Are you kidding me? If we had a calf here it would be curled up on the couch! But we can't eat the rabbits because they're cute. And she'll eat the cow tootsweet!!

Some liquid smoke, a shot or two of Jack Daniels, some butter, garlic salt, course ground black pepper, one chopped up sweet pepper, sliced and diced white onion, all fried in a cast iron skillet, on a real hot setting, flip that liver and keep doing about every two minutes get the outside of the liver cooked to what they call, "caramelized" then it should be done just right.

Carem. The Chef's name. Caremelized.

For nearly 22 years now, my wife has refused to allow liver to reside in our fridge because she is disgusted by it. The fact I have allowed many disgusting substances to reside there is irrelevant. You know, cottage cheese, yogurt, 2% milk, oysters one time.

Anyway, I made my stand today, and have 4 slices of calves liver in there now, and was wondering if any of you can tell me the best way to cook it. Onions too. Liver, and onions.
My grandmother made the best ever! The stuff I get in restaurants just isn't like hers was.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly since I'm cooking it tomorrow. Win lose, or draw!

Well now, I have been eating liver and onions all my married life. And that’s 50 plus years.

I and I can attest to the fact, I have never had it as good as my wife makes it. And no, she does not put it in the oven. No she does not roll it with corn meal.

I asked her if I could post it, and she was willing,
As long as I get feed back from you on how it tastes.

So hear goes

Recipe for ( Liver and Onions )

Use baby calves liver, about one pound.

One large yellow onion.

Three table spoons of Olive oil.

One cup of flower.
One half tes salt

One half tes pepper

One quart of water.

Take the liver pieces, you can cut them in half if you want. My wife doesn’t.

Cote them with the flower, both sides

Take Onion and cut in half.

In a large cast-iron skillet put in The olive oil,

Bring the oil to a high heat.

Lay in liver and sear both sides about 1 ½ min’s

After searing liver turn burner down to med.

Next put in the quart of water. The water should completely cover the liver about 1/2 to 3/4 inches.
Add the onion, add salt and pepper.

Cover pan and cook on med heat for about
35 to 40 min’s.

After about 20 min’s turn over liver.

Cook until done.

You will find the liver will never be dry, and there is no game taste to it.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

PS By the way, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and a well made dinner salad with garden peas and blue cheese dressing is as good as it gets.
We have a peach cobbler with fresh wiped cream after. Yum Yum.

Oh boy, I have got to say this is where we part company. I love rabbit. And I can tell you, I can cook it, and you would not know the difference between it, and chicken.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is when you grow up in the north country. Come to think of it, I never seen a rabbit lay an egg.

Hope were still friends????????????

Lolol, of course still friends, just no little bunnies for dinner please..For me it 's knowing it's a rabbit that would ruin it for me...What does it taste like and if you say chicken I'm going to pop you too!!

How do you cook it?? Geeezzzzz just the thought...Yikessss..I'm thinking of the ones I have that come for the food I put out for them..They love oat bread, 15 grain ..lolol and I could never kill one...

But I do understand growing up with it being normal...Killed for consumption is alright, killing for sport only, don't like that but also understand for some it is a hobby...

Happy New Year to you...Hope it is filled with all good things for you and family....Trump is a start !!

His fur will be protecting Mrs. Bunker's lovely busom from the cold winter air. Next, we go for Bambi, and Porkey!😈
