I, for one, don't see how that works. Can you explain to me how each of us is able to use his own definition of what is right and come to any kind of reasonable agreement? Is there a standard by your definition by which we should all abide? Is it anything goes? Who decides what the right side of the line is?

I think those are questions that need to be asked by each of us.
I was responding to a specific post that implied there was only one side that was right. My point, in saying 'see how that works?', is that both sides can use that same sort of reasoning. I'm much more in favor of finding reasonable agreements (compromises?). I don't think anything goes (protests should remain peaceful) and as to who decides what the right side is....that's why it's important to actually talk to those with whom one disagrees, not at them.
Just as conservatives resent being called racist, xenophobes, etc., liberals get just as frustrated being called marxist, un-American, etc. That's talking at the other side, not to them. In the original post 'Liberals went from...' all liberals were tarred with the same brush as rioters, despite the fact that 60+million of them went to work the week after the election despite losing, and most of the protests were peaceful.
