The ‘Story of the Fence’ PERFECTLY Explains How Government Corruption Works

Corruption in the government is rampant and we all know it. We feel it. We see things that don’t make sense, things that seem illogical.

Sometimes it’s hard to explain what corruption in the government actually looks like. But, this old story about a broken fence brings clarity to the issue that even a Liberal will understand, as per the Federalist Papers.

So, there was a hole in a fence at the White House that needed to be repaired. Bids were being submitted from three contractors – one each from Minnesota, Tennessee, and Chicago.

The contractor from Minnesota surveyed the project – measuring the fencing and doing the math. He came back to the White House rep and gave his bid. “I will do this job for $900. That’s $400 in materials, $400 for my crew, and $100 profit for me.”

Then came the gentleman from Tennessee. “I will do this job for $700. That’s $300 in fencing, $300 for my crew, and $100 profit left for me. We really want this job.” he said, with a strong Smokey Mountain drawl.

Two bids so far, fairly similar. Fairly fair. Then came the bid from Chicago (where the book on corruption was written). “Okay, I can fix this fence for $2700.”

“Wait, what?” the White House manager questioned? That’s way more than the other bids. Why is your bid so much higher?”

“It’s simple math.” the Chicago contractor explained. “It’s $1000 for you, $1000 for me, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence for $700.”

“When can you start?” the government official asked. “Who can turn down a thousand of profit?” he thought.

You see, that’s how government works. It’s easy to waste money when it’s not your money. Who cares about efficiency? You’d hope that our elected officials would care more about the cost of their actions on taxpayers, but many of them simply get entrenched into the system and stop caring.

You take your money seriously. You guard it. You worked hard for it. So, when the government taxes you and then wastes your money, it drives you crazy. It’s just wrong.

Thankfully, President-Elect Trump is already cleaning up the corruption and trimming back the inefficient spending in our government. Just ask Boeing.

I would ask this 1 Question. What do corrupt officials do when you take their money away? The answer at this point in time should give you some idea to what is about to happen.

moldy, Yes,you detect a pattern, it's been going on for qute some time. Remember, in '08. when O picked his cabinet, all of them, including the Secretary of the Treasury(whose in charge of taxation) were tax cheats.

Stack the deck and given lots of things to worry about, seems to me Trump is pulling a democrat so let's see how they handle it.
