The Recount Kabuki

Dianny•November 27, 2016
recount-kabuki

According to the Hill, it was Barack Obama who instructed Hillary Clinton to concede the election in the wee hours of November 9.

And now, in the midst of this recount Kabuki started by the self-indulgent Jill Stein, the White House is once again coming forward to say the election was free and fair and the results must stand.

Barack Obama seems an unlikely ally for Donald Trump, I know.

But when you stop and think about it, it makes sense.

Barack Obama doesn’t want this recount for a few self-serving reasons.

First of all, Hubris.

If Hillary Clinton won the White House, she would have become the titular head of the Democrat Party. Barack Obama would not be able to insert himself into any policy debates without pitting himself against Clinton.

Let’s face it. Obama is most comfortable when he is opposing someone. With Clinton in the White House, he would not be able to portray himself as the thoughtful, intelligent opposition.

Obama wants to retain his relevance. He has to. His narcissism is too great to accept a quiet retirement.

And with a Hillary presidency, Obama would have to fade into the background. Something Barack simply cannot abide.

With Trump in the White House and the Democrat Party in disarray, guess who can step in as the “voice of reason?”

Barack Obama.

He can cast himself in the role of “leader of the opposition” thereby keeping himself in the public eye.

He’s already said as much, hasn’t he?

Once you give a narcissist a taste of the bully pulpit, he’s not going to want to give it up.

Ever.

A President Trump is the perfect foil for Obama’s self-indulgent desire for relevance.

Another reason is Legacy.

How “history” judges Barack Obama is a point of obsession for the man.

Sure, Trump may unravel a lot of what Obama’s done.

But I really don’t think that bothers Obama nearly as much as losing his place in “history.”

Let’s face it. We all know how important “history” is to Barack Obama. How often have we heard him sanctimoniously declare that those who oppose him will be on “the wrong side of history?”

Obama wants “history” to be his judge. You know, the same way he thinks Fidel Castro will be judged by “history.”

Hillary sought the White House with the promise that she would build on Obama’s legacy.

We aren’t the only ones who believe Hillary Clinton would have been an incompetent, bumbling President. I think Obama knows that as well.

It would do irreparable damage to his “legacy” to have a bumbling idiot like Hillary Clinton bullocks up everything.

It would not only make the American people turn on her, but by extension, turn on Obama.

He will be remembered as the President who started the downward spiral that led to the incompetent Hillary Clinton.

Do you think Obama is willing to risk being smeared by “history” just to have Hillary as President?

No way.

But being able to actively oppose Donald Trump will allow Obama to look noble and righteous. This is all about influencing what future generations think of him.

If Trump dismantles Obama’s feckless agenda, it gives Barack something to fight against. And that’s what he will be remembered for.

Intentions are what matter to a Leftist, not the outcome.

Finally, there’s the Left’s Long Con.

This recount Kabuki runs the risk of exposing voting irregularities.

And who commits voter fraud?

The Democrats.

A CEO who is embezzling from a company would not willingly submit to an audit. You know what I mean?

Any fraud revealed in a recount exposes the Democrats’ long con to scrutiny.

The truth is Donald Trump didn’t win because of fraud; he won despite fraud.

The long-term risk to the Democrat Party from the exposure of voter fraud outweighs the butt-hurt of Hillary Clinton.

Exposing voter fraud on a recount that will not change the outcome of the election risks blowing the con.

There is no way in hell Obama is willing to risk that.

Hillary doesn’t care about the long con of the Democrat Party. She’s got her own con job to think about.

Hillary’s willingness to participate in this recount Kabuki isn’t about changing the outcome at all.

Don’t be fooled. This isn’t an attempt to “steal the election.”

Hillary Clinton is just a spiteful, vindictive bitch. It’s no more complicated than that.

This recount Kabuki is being done out of spite.

Her goal is simple.

Payback.

Donald Trump beat her. And now she wants him to pay.

What better way to get back at Trump than to sow seeds of discontent among voters while creating the illusion that Trump’s win is illegitimate?

Even when the recount proves pointless, the stink of illegitimacy will remain.

Just ask George W. Bush.

Both Obama (in opposing the recount) and Hillary (in calling for one) have the same goal in mind:

To delegitimize Trump’s presidency and cripple his ability to govern.

So much for the “peaceful transfer of power.”

The recount must have some value for the future of rebuilding the left's fortunes other than trying to over turn the election. Perhaps it is merely a way to keep disheartened leftists from quitting politics altogether. If Trump had lost I wonder how many discouraged right wingers would have given up permanently.

Good post. If Obuster convinces the recount to end, Trump will make sure his legacy turns to treason. He will attack Clinton ferociously until she is inside a federal prison, and for a shorter sentence, negotiate with her for information. Next, he will cloths-line Obrakedance into a long investigation that will land him in federal prison as well. Sometime in the future, you will hear about G. Socialistrros suicide.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together?

I want a recount! I'm exceedingly happy for the recount because I want Hillary to suffer the humility of being a three time loser. She'd be right up there with that other famous three time loser; the pregnant prostitute, wearing a Nixon/Lodge campaign button and driving an Edsel.
