well we are not a socialist country . if some one wants a high dollar education then it is up to them to pay for it. there are grants and loans from the government , to help out the people who are less financially capable to pay on their own . but if you want a high dollar job and live comfortably . why should I pay for it ? and yes we have one of the largest militaries in the world and things around the world were rather peaceful . yet for the last 35 - 40 years because of some bleeding heart libtars our military has been slowly but surely been weekend. and look at the state the globe is in now days. it is one big mess because of political correctness and a bunch of bleeding heart to down size the military and waist money on other things and most of it is a gigantic waist.

Since the U.S. spends as much on military annually as the other world military powers combined, how has our military been weakened?
Are taxpayers not getting their money's worth for the $582 billion we bestow on the military for 2017 with $58 billion added to that for overseas contingencies?
Why has the Pentagon been allowed to cook their books to the tune of $6.5 trillion?

I doubt you pay any taxes.
How would government providing free education to the masses cost you anything?

What a asinine argument .. Who builds and teaches for free ? Do you work for free ? hell no you do not .. who pays for all this education ? it is not free , STFU .
the military has been down sized the navy has put ships into moth balls the air force has older equipment and needs replacing. and terror is at a all time high. it did not use to be this crazy, when our military was at full strength. but the libtards and bleeding hearts club whinned for so long that it isn't needed any longer so little by little it has been cut back. now we even let our worst enemy into the country because of the wars that are in their country. why can't they go to a muslime country in the area? if them people are suppose to be a peaceful "religion" why do they keep killing each other. one lie after another. this is an invasion to take Europe amd America , down without firing a shot.

You're not up much on the shape of our military, are you? A more accurate analysis of military budget spending is what percentage, as a part of our GDP, is our military budget? It is only around 3.5%....Russia's is around 4.5%, and China is around 2.1%. Ever since the end of the cold war, our nuclear weapon program has declined in modernization and capability, in fact it requires almost a complete rebuild. After the end of the cold war nuclear scientists left military employment in droves to seek civilian employment, because of the downsizing and declining research and modernization. During the Bush era and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Navy was sacrificed to increase the size and weaponry of the Army and the Marines. We've gone from a Navy of 594 ships (Reagan era) down to 274 today. A huge amount of our cruise missile inventory was expended during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and Obama has restricted the replenishment to only a maximum of 100 new missiles per year!
We size our Navy to accomplish the things we ask of it, and what we ask of it today is to maintain global freedom of the seas. Global freedom of the seas is the minimum condition necessary for international trade, the overwhelming majority of which moves by sea. That international trade is a source of much of our national wealth, and our national wealth is the source of our security. Do you wish to leave either of these things—security or prosperity—in the hands of another nation? China is building up it's naval forces in an attempt to control the Pacific, and Russia likewise in the Atlantic. Wake up.

If you pay taxes, you're paying for the bloated military in the U.S.
The Pentagon has cooked its books to the tune of $6.5 trillion.
What happened to that gigantic sum which they refuse to account for?
$6.5 trillion would educate every school age person in the U.S with plenty left over.

The current wars in the Middle East are the result of U.S./NATO policies. Muslims are killing each other because
they are being paid by the West to do so. Since the U.S. and NATO countries are responsible for the tragedy that has befallen the refugees,
it is only fair that they should be allowed safe haven in Europe and the U.S.

If the Nordic countries have absorbed many refugees from the Middle East it would be because they have more human compassion than those countries which refuse to help. Maybe their human compassion is a result of their advanced education. You made up the lie about rape capitols. You need to get your news from reputable sources, not these guys:

Why spend money on nuclear weapons when it would be suicidal to use them?
China and Russia use their military to defend their borders. That's what our Constitution specified our military be used for.
Those in control of our foreign policy ignore our Constitution.
???????? And, you're paying for an inept, mismanaged, liberalized, bloated school system that spends over $10,000 per child and still produces idiots! Now, you want to put that $6.5T into that system? Sure there needs to be an accounting of that $6.5T, and I agree the pentagon bureaucracy needs changing, but we have spent a whole lot more on our failed education system than $6.5T. And, what about the trillions we have spent on poverty? Trillions have been spent over the past 40-50 years with the percentage of the poor remaining the same. Like I stated in my post, if want to relinquish our control of free international trade in our oceans, thus our security and wealth as a nation, just do what you advocate....and, we'll just be another second rate banana republic.
BTW, if you know anything about how the Defense Industry operates, which you don't, it is not hard to figure out why there is $6.5T unaccounted for. It didn't go into some one's pocket, like you probably think. Having spent many years in the military and defense industry, I have a pretty good idea where it went. The military at times, especially in times of conflict and war, money is spent on special projects, i.e., the special bombs designed and built to blow up those mountain caves in Afghanistan, is not properly accounted for....they were spent in a rush to get the job done. Just because it didn't fit properly in the debit and credit columns of an accountants ledger doesn't mean it wasn't spent constructively.
But to take that money and throw it into our bottomless pit of an education system, is just a bigger waste.
