The Big, Beautiful Wall...

Below are the requirements for the 'big, beautiful wall.'

The wall must be reinforced concrete and "physically imposing in height." The government is aiming for a 30-foot high wall, and heights of 18 feet are considered acceptable, but nothing less.

It should not be possible for someone to climb the wall unassisted, and it should include 'anti-climb topping features.'

The wall should also prevent digging or tunneling for at least six feet below ground.

It should be able to withstand a minimum of one hour of people attempting to breach a foot wide hole using their fist, sledgehammer, pick axe etc.

When it comes to the creation of a hole larger than one foot in diameter, the first 12 feet of the wall should withstand these efforts for up to four hours.

The north side of the wall, which faces the U.S., "shall be aesthetically pleasing in color, anti-climb texture, etc., to be consistent with general surrounding environment." In addition, "the wall fittings and fixtures shall be secured on the north side of the wall to shield from external attack."

Trump called for the wall to have a "big, beautiful door", and the posting calls for the wall design to accommodate large mechanized vehicle sliding gates.

And yes, eventually, the Mexicans are going to pay for it.

The Moroccan Wall of Western Sahara is an approximately 2,700 km (1,700 mi) long structure, mostly a sand wall (or "berm"), running through Western Sahara and the southeastern portion of Morocco. It separates[1] the Moroccan occupied, and controlled, areas (Southern Provinces) and the Polisario-controlled areas (Free Zone)

Physical structure:
The fortifications lie in uninhabited or very sparsely inhabited territory. They consist of sand and stone walls or berms about 3 m (10 ft) in height, with bunkers, fences and landmines throughout. The barrier minebelt that runs along the structure is thought to be the longest continuous minefield in the world. Military bases, artillery posts and airfields dot the Moroccan-controlled side of the wall at regular intervals, and radar masts and other electronic surveillance equipment scan the areas in front of it.
The following is one observer's description of the Berm:
Physically, the berm is a 2 m (6 ft 7 in) high wall (with a backing trench), which rides along a topographical high point/ridge/hill throughout the territory. Spaced out over every 5 km (3.1 mi) are a big, small and medium base, with approximately 35–40 troops at each observation post and groups of 10 soldiers spaced out over the distance as well. About 4 km (2 1⁄2 mi) behind each major post there is a rapid reaction post, which includes backing mobile forces.

World of walls: How 65 countries have erected fences on their borders – four times as many as when the Berlin Wall was toppled – as governments try to hold back the tide of migrants
Security fears and a widespread refusal to help refugees have fuelled a new spate of wall-building around the world
A third of the world's countries have completed or are building barriers – compared to 16 at the fall of the Berlin Wall
They include Israel's 'apartheid wall', India's 2,500-mile fence around Bangladesh and Morocco's huge sand 'berm'

OK, I have an idea for border security.

Step 1: If they run, shoot them with a paintball gun with "SPECIAL INK" that takes 3 months to wash off.

Step 2: If they are caught: The punishment is a "Beat & Release" program. Kinda like those fishing tournaments (catch & release) ONLY now, the Border Patrol pulls out the nightsticks and puts some welts on their ass making it HARD to sit down for weeks. Then, forces them back across the border! Hence, Beat & Release.

I'm just sayin'

Check out a wall with some meaning. br NO, I mean ... (show quote)

Here's a novel idea. Instead of hitting them with 'special ink', beating them up, making it hard to sit, etc., how about a quick 30-06 round to the back of the head and place them at intervals as a warning to others of what happens when they try to sneak in our back door. I would quite happily volunteer to do a stint on a watchtower, M1 at the ready, and take potshots at anyone stupid enough to try and cross illegally. If I have plenty of ammo, I might shoot 'em in the foot first then play with them for a while before the kill shot. Just to relieve the boredom. I kinda like that idea.
