Hi. I've had a lot of change over the last year and a half. Losing my husband after a short illness was the most serious.
That set a number of other changes into motion.
One of the first things I did was register to vote in a new County in California.
I was so pleased to "convert" my late husband from Republican to Democrat. I didn't have to proselytize. He'd retired quite young, so went to my young adult daughter's disability hearing in my stead. He was shocked at how little she'd have to live on.
One of the major reasons I moved up here was to be close to family and old school friends.

Welcome to OPP. You will find all sorts here. Most of the posters here are Republican oriented, or independent. Not many Liberals, but we have a few of those also. My condolences on your husband; I've lost family before.
Welcome, Island Girl, truth can be an elusive goal but can be found through searching and I wish you success and happiness.
Welcome aboard Island Girl. Hang on for a ride!
Sorry for your loss.

Welcome. Use "Quote Reply" so others will know to whom you are replying. Language here can sometimes be appalling: try to skim over it to find the decent posters. I am nearly ten years widowed myself: one does survive somehow.

Welcome aboard Island Girl. Hope you enjoy the jibberjab here.
Can be entertaining and educational.
I'm new. Treat me gently for I am one of those Liberals who eats, sleeps, and dreams polotics. Was a Liberal,Democratic, talk radio show host for 10 years.
It sounds like Ohio State by the shore. Welcome by all means. it would be fair to say that at least some on this board are interested in what is true. Some news sources care about what is true and sadly many do not. I've always thought truth no matter how elusive is a noble pursuit.

"A Liberal, Democratic, talk radio show host for 10 years?" That explains your misspelling of
"politics." (lol)
Welcome anyway. We need some new contributions.
