I found this commentary in a chat group and thought it would be worth discussion. What do you think of this persons thoughts?

This matter of "rights" gets much attention and little understanding. What is a "right"? There are certain "rights" embraced within our Constitution; those being "inalienable" rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and perhaps others not mentioned. Those are "inalienable" because they originated with God, the Creator. Other than those "rights" from God; anything else we call a "right" is in actuality a "permission"; a "freedom" provided by another, person or entity. It is not inalienable and can be taken away as easily as granted.

"Permissions" granted in a democracy are, or at least should be, determined by the majority; and especially so if the granting of a "permission" to a minority within the affected population is at the disfavor of the majority.

We are now impacted by "permissions" granted by at minimum only 5 persons on the Supreme Court; "permissions" not provided in the language of the Constitution nor in any discussions of the framers of that document, not subjected to legislative action by Congress as provided in the Constitution and not determined by will of the people by vote or amendment. The decisions by justices of the court reflect a total disregard of all principles our great nation was founded on. Their political activism; along with the political agenda of an activist administration, have created such a hostile and divided nation that it may never be healed.

This is spot on, and it is the reason that Supreme Court Justices as well as members of the Congress must be subjected to term limits. The founders never envisaged a professional ruler class or extreme social activists dominating the court decisions. They made those positions life tenures so that the Judges would not be swayed by "popular" fads of the moment, but would instead consider what the Constitution mandated and apply that to the cases being considered. This expectation has obviously failed, time to correct a built in deficiency.

I don't expect to be around to see it due to my age but the question I ask is, nevertheless, a serious question. Will America gain her sovereignty, freedom, rule of law and a return to true Constitutional government without the shedding of buckets of American blood?

I was of the opinion that it would have to come to that pass if Hillary was elected. With Trump we might have an opportunity to slow this progression but while we were sleeping and being nice, two whole generations have been imbued with socialist/communist doctrines. I don't know how we will reeducate these people or make them treasure freedom when they have been habituated to being taken care of by the nanny state.

We live in perilous times, our political leaders failed to enforce the laws that would have kept us safe from illegal invaders, who are carefully coached to suckle at the public teat. Our politicians, like Ted Kennedy enacted laws so that people who committed a crime in coming here benefited by procreating on our soil. Any ID laws we might pass will ultimately rebound to our detriment since our government is more interested in spying on and controlling the law abiding citizens then they are in apprehending the criminal element.

The printing of money to cover the gambling losses of the one percent is impoverishing our nation. Sooner rather than later this bubble is going to burst and in the ensuing hyperinflation, we will envy the Venezuelans. Sorry to be so pessimistic but our society is degenerate, we have lost our moral and spiritual compass and that is reflected in the problems we face. Our government is corrupt and this is a reflection of the soiciety they represent, venal, avaricious, corrupt, amoral and depraved.
