CAN ANYONE STOP THESE ANNOYING ROBO-CALLS

Am averaging 6-10 robo calls a day. Do not call does not work, they ignore that so got to be a better way.
All calls are "local" numbers disguising their original location.
Got one today wanting me to give them several thousand dollars for fraud tax return or they would arrests me today.
This should be illegal and someone somewhere needs to put a stop to it.
Any advice?

I haven't found an answer to that one yet but I keep working on it. I got a call blocker but now I get a straight line instead of a number and it can't be blocked so they found a way around that. The Do Not Call list is a complete joke. Mostly, I just don't answer the phone anymore. It's SO irritating!

I have noticed an uptick on my phone...5 yrs no robocalls, last two weeks about 3 a day. ........on my samsung i just pull up the number of offending call, hit my little page menu ( same like you would forward a number or text) hit on ignore that number......your phone will recognize it and not even let it ring once.

Your phone will do it better than a no call list.

Hope that helps.

There is one robo call where they ask "can you hear me?" And they record your "yes" response and piece your answer into a question in which they have sold you an item.

They are all voice activated, if you say nothing when you answer the call, it will just go dead in about 5 seconds....then if you call the number back it may give you the option of being on their no call list......no human will answer if you call these numbers back.

I feel your pain. This crap is getting out of hand. I just don't bother answering the phone if I don't recognize the number on the caller ID. If by chance I do answer the phone, I just ask them to hold on for a second and lay the phone down. I'll hang it back up after a few minutes.

i have time warner cable and had many annoying robo calls. i was able to manage my account on line and simply clicked the appropriate boxes to stop robo and any disguised calls. phone rings once and stops. anything ringing more than once i would check caller i.d. and answer if desired. works like a charm.

Tell them you will pay the money in person. Nobody wants to get arrested for tax fraud.
When you are greeted at the designated meeting area, and they have their hand out, hold them until the police arrive.
At gun-point if necessary!

I used to get like 16 calls a day. The problem is that they have several different numbers that they call you from. My carrier Sprint blocked 22 numbers for me. Now I get maybe 5 a week. I save their numbers and label them Junk calls, then on my phone settings I have a choice of ringers,I pick none for them then it becomes a missed call.I hope that helps.

The solution for me is a call blocker. I get six or more calls every day. The caller ID shows up on my TV. The call blocker, requires one ring to read the caller ID. Then it just hangs up. I bought mine on Amazon and it allows me to block over 1000 numbers. Mine allows me to block entire area codes, like all 800 numbers or all calls from any area code or all blocked caller ID calls. I would never open my front door and allow an anonymous person into my home. Why would I allow an anonymous caller into my home? They're blocked. I tell businesses that want my phone number that if they're calling from an 800 number or don't have caller ID that they won't be able to reach me. It's been that way for years and I have never seen a problem. To block a number all you need to do is press the big red button. Numbers can be removed from the blocker too, My home is completely automated and as such, disables the landline when I retire for the night until I get up in the morning. I have a cell but only family and friends get that number. I think I get maybe one or two scam calls a year on my cell phone. it's super easy to block them on an iPhone.
