When Melania read the Lord's Prayer at the opening of Trump's campaign type rally she tore a new one for the leaners. They went wild along with atheists in that they all called up the 1st Amendment and the words they say talk about separation of Church and State. Even if they were speaking truth the words in the Constitution say that Congress cannot establish one church. It is too bad that so many of them can't read or even try to see what the words say. They are all against Christianity and haven't yet realized that Obama is no longer our President so he can pound Christians, or play up black people as he always did.

Maybe some day the leaners will see just what the words in the Constitution do say and not have to use their interpretation of them as the truth. One thing they missed about her performance is that Melania is not a government official but just another citizen like the rest of us. May I suggest that you read some of the comments here to see how silly the leaners appear to be.

They have been hearing for years that the Constitution calls for the the separation of church and state. The First Amendment says" Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;" The phrase "Separation of Church and state " was lifted from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to a Baptist Church in Danbury Coneticuit. In the letter he was promising the church that the government would stay out of the church's business.

If the idiot liberals did some reading, they might find that Thomas Jefferson, one of the prime authors of our constitution, they will find that he clarified that clause meant the church was to be separated from government not the other way around

It is hard for leaners and atheists to see what you say about protecting churches from government is what that has always been about. So many of our leaners just don't seem to be able to understand that the Bill of Rights is protection for the people from government. Maybe they don't understand that the 1st Amendment is part of the Bill.

Actually what they think is that their interpretation of the Constitution isn't really what the Framers intended.

When you study European history, you begin to think (or at least I did) that the constitution doesn't "protect" churches from government, it protects the people from governments and churches colluding with each other to rule the people. Government and religion are the most powerful entities on the planet and when you combine those powers and they become corrupt (as power often does), they end up manipulating each other for more power and money while the "people" have little to no chance of fighting back. Our constitution took away the commonly held belief that rulers were "ordained by God" with the new concept that governments should be decided "by the people, for the people". When the constitution was written and ratified, states could "establish" religions (and did), but what states and congress COULDN'T do was force people, through laws and taxes, to financially support those religions or persecute people for not practicing the state religion and practicing their own. The only constitutional separation of church and state is when it relates to taxes, or at least it used to be.

More to the point - they criticized her for not wanting to take on public First Lady "duties" and wanting Ivanka to step in for her on some of them (to which they disgustedly suggested incest), then the first time she DOES perform a First Lady duty, they attack her for how she sounds and her method of doing it (reading instead of memorizing or using a TelePrompTer).
The Trump Presidency will be known as the presidency that "can't win for losing".
