Feet

First read John 13:1 - 17. Peter thinks highly of Christ and doesn’t see Christ as a servant. Christ informs Peter that unless He washes your feet you have no part in Him. Peter wants his head and hands washed also. Jesus informs Peter that it is only necessary to wash the feet. What is Jesus trying to teach? Is He talking the physical or spiritual? The flesh profits nothing. John 6:63 How can washing feet have spiritual connotations? Your feet come in contact with the earth. At this time sandals were worn and cars weren’t invented so everyone’s feet were filthy. When you teach God’s word to deceived minds, they will come against you. If they can’t find anything you have done they will lie. They will look for something you’ve done in the past to justify them not listening to God now. If necessary, they will find a soiled diaper and say you can’t control your bowels. Hoping you will deny the diaper and not realize we all come into the world the same way. People will judge you and misunderstand. As long as you stay in Christ by never going beyond His word, God will be on your side, but satan will hate your guts. We need Jesus to cleanse us. The chief weapon in satan’s arsenal is character assassination. He has to appeal to your emotions because his logic is pathetic. Fortunately, salvation is not based on success. To abide in Christ, we must read of God and never go beyond it. We are all sinners.
