This has never happened before in American history.

We hear a cacophony of blaring and bleating from the media and the Hillary gaggle that she won the popular vote and therefore she should be president
60,839,497 to 60,265,847. 47.8% to 47,3% with the remaining 4.9% going to the other candidates.

But here are the facts:

Trump won the popular vote in 31 states to her 19 and DC. 62% to her 38%.
Trump led in the total popular vote for all states except California.

Hillary won California 5,860,714 to Trump’s 3,151,821. 61.6% to 33.1% exclusive of the other candidates.
Thus California gave Hillary the popular vote for all states as claimed by the Democrats and their media stooges.

But deduct her California vote from her national vote leaving her with 54,978,783, and deduct Trump’s California vote from his national total, leaving him with 57,113.976, he wins in a landslide in the other 49 states, 51.3% to her 48.7%.

So, in effect, Hillary was elected president of California and Trump was elected president of the rest of the country by a substantial margin.

This exemplifies the wisdom of the Electoral College, to prevent the vote of any one populace state from overriding the vote of the others. Trump’s Campaign Manager, Kellyanne Conway, whose expertise is polling, saw this early on and devised her strategy of “6 pathways to the White House”.

This meant ignoring California with its huge Democrat majority and going after the states that would give him the necessary electoral votes to win, FL, NC, MI, PA, OH, and WI.

At its lowest point since the civil war! Could this mean the end of the Democrat Party? When the afternoon of January 20, 2017 arrives, the Republican Party will have:
1) The Presidency.
2) A majority of the House of Representatives.
3) A majority of the Senate.
4) Almost two-thirds of all the governorships.
5) Total control of the statehouses in almost two-thirds of all the states.
And in the near future, Republicans will be able to add:
6) A majority of the Supreme Court.
The above has never happened before in American history.
Think about that and let it sink in for a moment.
And it's all because of one reason: Barack Obama's forcing his extreme far-left agenda on an unwilling country by executive orders, left wing judges, and obsequious bureaucrats.
With the demand that we do away with the Electoral College and take the popular vote being pushed by the media, etc, all Americans need to know that the Electoral College is working exactly as our Founding Fathers intended.

And the Democrats will vote in February for their next DNC chair. Radical black muslim Keith Ellison is reputed to be the frontrunner. I guess the Democrats think that they haven't catered to the black muslim movement enough under Obama so they now want an out-of-the-closet radical muslim as their party's chair. I say good! If Ellison wins the Democrats will find themselves to be so marginalized they won't be able to win any national election! Oh Happy Day!!!

All this being true, the GOP would be complaining just as much as the democrats currently are if Mr. Trump had won the popular vote by nearly three million, yet lost the electoral college. Several on OPP had voiced their fears well prior to the election that Trump would win the popular vote easily, but get beaten by the electoral college.

Much had been spoken in the past of the demise of either party after suffering innumerable losses at the polls. Yet, the republicans commonly languished as a political minority from the early 30s through to the early 90s, and survived to currently flourish.

Can you explain why democrats were crying and some of them are still acting like children. Have never seen anything even close.

No reasonable explanation to offer. It serves no purpose to exhibit a bad case of sour grapes.

I'm not pleased with Trump's having won...but, nor would I have been with Clinton. As a nation, and as individual citizens, we should hope for the best with President Trump. As one who believes in the electoral process, preparing for the next presidential election would be a better recourse for the democratic party. After all, there is a do-over every four years for a reason. If President Trump falters, there will be rush to replace him by both parties.

BTW...remember that many on OPP were talking armed civil war if Clinton had won. Hopefully, we won't see that happening.

Do-overs happen every 4 years want it or not. Seems democrats what do-over right now so adult democrats act like children rather than adults and these are elected officials. Anyone would falter with the chances these people are willing to give. What I'm seeing is they want failure!

What we've had for the last 40 years were Demopublican and Republcrat combination parties. No matter who got elected after you saw the actor's makeup for what it was, things just kept going the same way. Bigger Govt. , inflation, more restrictive regulations hampering business and private, politicians criminal behavior being outed, and without red faces or apology, a general increasing rush to a complete police state, with all of us "deplorables" working longer and harder with less and less reward. While the low class people got dumber and more dangerous.

Now they want us to believe that that is going to do an about face.

We'll see.

Changing the rules after the game has been played is certainly a secular liberal progressive thing, 49. And if the original rules called for a "POPULAR" vote, "THE DONALD" would just have campaigned in NY, Florida, Texas and California. THAT's why our God, {with the help of our Founders}, developed the "ELECTORIAL COLLEGE!!!" And whatever the rules started out to be, "THE DONALD" WOULD HAVE WON. No ifs ands or buts!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!!

Yep! The Lunatics have taken over the Asylum and the Mummies are trying to keep order. Too bad, so sad! Maybe the Lunatics will suddenly decide to behave, right?

If the reverse had been true conservatives would have justifiably raised hell because the Marxist Progressive Party is known to be exceedingly adapt at cheating. Obama noted that if illegal alien "invaders" voted the chances of them being caught was slim. Whoops, a strategic slip of the tongue? And, as noted, California, housing the largest number of illegal alien "invaders" gave Hillary that large margin for the popular vote. We will never know how many invaders voted illegally. But it doesn't really matter. Trump is president and cleaning out the swamp means those damn illegal invaders too.

Democrats do not seem to care that 2 of their grievance groups are in conflict with a third group of their liberal coalition. Women and Gays are anti Patriarchal grievance groups. Muslims are highly Patriarchal.
