Harris County deputies seized nearly half a pound of meth after a traffic stop in the Copperfield area of Houston.

"This is another example how a routine traffic stop turned into a significant narcotics arrest in our community and may have kept our children and loved ones free from being introduced to drugs," the department said in a news release. "Deputy Aguilar and other deputies are challenged on a daily basis to enforce the law using not only their knowledge and expertise, but their powers of observation to take criminals off the street."

They really thought they'd hit the jackpot:
"As the driver was arrested, deputies proceeded to search his car, finding 252 grams of [wait for it...] sand." That these rocket scientists promptly assumed was methamphetamine!! Jackpot!... Not! Oh, Snap!

Of course the fool had a roach or something in his car so from that point he's the criminal of the month and his assertions that it was cat litter was totally bogus, right? Right! Nice going deputies! High fives all around and take tomorrow off.
"Thankfully, his arrest over meth charges was dismissed." Phew! That was close! Now all he has to worry about is a bogus arrest record for possession of methamphetamine that will totally follow him around for the rest of his life. Good luck improving your career with that anchor around your neck.
