It is a violation of FEDERAL Law for a wetback to be here. Knowingly aiding and abetting a Federal crime is another crime. A wetback becomes a criminal misdemeanant the moment they set foot on US soil. If they are doing it after having been arrested for any other crimes, they are felons.

Quite so. We just have different strategies for dealing with the situation. My preferred strategy would be to arrest those who hire illegals. No jobs...no motivation to come here illegally. No need to use the Guard.

About 30% of Los Angeles County is illegal. Well over half receive some sort of government entitlement. There's more than employment that motivates many of them. Here where I live there are a large number of Central Americans. Many are illegal and over half are unemployed. It wouldn't be so bad if they could figure out that trash cans are there for a reason.
There is a park near my house that a lot of people use. After most events, there might be a few candy wrappers, or something like that left laying. After one of their functions, it looks like the landfill. There are trash receptacles all over the park, all empty.

A State or local government cannot break Federal Law. States rights are about keeping the Federal Government out of State issues like schools. Immigration is a Federal issue.

However, feel free to come back with any other argument because unlike some on the right and the left on OPP I do not believe in denying anyone the right of free speech.

Constitutional rights should not be controlled on a state by state basis, the gun laws that have been passed by states are unconstitutional!
We do need a few but it is hard to agree on where the line should be drawn. I live in a blue state that has fairly good gun laws, lots of hunters help.
Hillary and Obama have been good for the gun industry, not for my wallet.
We are supposed to be United not divided!

Gun laws are a Federal issue like immigration. Even like abortion. The Pro Abortion rights crowd do not want to hear about states rights.

I would like nothing better.

California sends more money to the Federal system than it takes out (which means other states are depending on CA) and yet we get shafted by the electoral college. There is nothing the middle of the country has to offer us... We can get corn and wheat from Canada and we sure as shit don't want all your runaway teenagers coming here "to be stars". We're the only state in the union with an economy large enough to join the G8 so it's not like we couldn't handle being on our own.

But the division you are referring to isn't drawn along state lines. California actually has more dumb-shit Republicans than any other state, including Texas. The reason why it's always blue is because we have major cities which tend to gather more liberals. Why is New York blue? Because of NYC. Why is Illinois blue? Because of Chicago. Why is California blue? Because of Los Angeles and San Fransisco.

So, here's my proposal...

Metropolitan zones link together under a constitutional democracy and we declare the middle of the country a free-market zone. This zone can be open to corporate exploitation. It's what the people there want anyway, less regulation, less government and apparently they don't think democracy is a good thing either, so that makes it easy. They can be owned by corporations like the American colonies were.

See? Everyone wins.

Aren't they planning to break away from the Union? Actually, I think we ought to take another vote and boot them out, build a wall and no federal aid. We'll keep only our military bases.

California doesn't need federal aid... we actually pay more taxes into the federal system than we take out. As for the military, what's in California is ours not yours. So that's a little more than a third of the Navy and about half the Marine Corp... We also have more reserves than most other states put together... so good luck.

So what... junk food and detergent? Wow, that's really going to hurt a state that's into bio-degradable soap and health food. LOL.

In the meantime... say good bye to all your cell phones because Apple and Google have that market cornered and they are both in California. So is every other computer manufacture that isn't in Washington (another liberal state) and China. We also have the largest concentration of defense contractors, bio-tech, and research centers. We even produce more cheese and beer than Wisconsin, more peaches than Georgia and more rice than Japan. We also have Del Monte and Dole... Oh, and Peet's Coffee, which is a step up from Starbucks anyway.

Gun laws are a state issue dumb-ass. The only time it becomes a federal issue is when people on the right erroneously think the 2nd Amendment gives them the right to bear arms without compliance and so they appeal to the Federal courts where they are defeated every time. And as far as pro-choice advocates are concerned, abortion is a personal issue. The so-called "pro-lifers" are the only ones pushing for federal laws.

Okay then you won't notice it when my boy Donald J. ends it. By the way when are you deadbeats going to pay off your public pensions? We don't want to bail you out.

Dumb-ass, Abortion is primarily Federal. Federal over rules state law. Federal law over rides state and local law on fire arms. If the State and local laws on Abortion, Guns, or Immigration, conflict with the Constitution or Federal law, the Federal statutes win.

They're our military not California's. But knowing you're from California explains much about you. Now that you folks have legalized pot maybe the rush of dopers from California to Colorado will cease and, like a dog returning to its own vomit, they'll return to the land of fruit and nuts freeing Colorado again. Colorado found out the hard way that legalizing pot was not a good idea. Ever wonder why Obama and his justice department have never insisted on honoring their sacred oath to uphold the law on the illegality of marijuana and why he's releasing thousands of pushers and users from prison? Could it be because he was a heavy user of marijuana and cocaine himself? Maybe Obama gets hook on meth to cope with the realization of his complete and total failure.

So does every capitalist country in the world right now. If you knew enough about debt to know that it's not a proper noun, you would know that Califonia's debt isn't as big as the federal debt, minus California.

So, nice try.
