Republican John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on Friday that Russia must face a penalty for the cyber attacks and that is was possible to impose many sanctions.

“When you attack a country, it’s an act of war,” McCain said in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel “1+1” while on a visit to Kiev.

“And so we have to make sure that there is a price to pay, so that we can perhaps persuade the Russians to stop these kind of attacks on our very fundamentals of democracy.” added McCain, who has scheduled a hearing for Thursday on foreign cyber threats.
McCain’s record of getting the U.S. into conflicts should be noted:
McCain traveled to Egypt and got involved there…then the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood happened.
Next, McCain travelled to Libya to “arm the rebels” aka al-Qaeda terrorists and then we had Benghazi plus the spiraling into chaos of Libya…

PeterS. It is becoming more and more likely that Wiki Leaks material was leaked from within the USA. The Washington Post has already admitted their hacking story was false. The Obama talking points may not coincide with the facts garnered from the intelligence community. Looks like the best they have is a "definite maybe". John McCain may be a lot of the negative things people say about him. I would rather that he had retired yers ago from public life. However, his time in the Hanoi Hilton is well documented by fellow prisoners as being exceptional. When the NVA discovered who his father was they offered to free him in return for a negative statement about the war. He refused and as a result spent many more years in captivity than he had to and was brutally tortured as a result. This is fact not BS.

I am curious. Have you seen the elephant? If you don't know what I am referring to, you haven't. The video you refer to was made while he was in captivity! Any number of Hanoi Hilton prisoners made statements like this to mitigate the torture if even for a time. It was not, and is not considered any kind of an indescretion. Why? Because the NVA treatment of our prisoners was in complete violation of the Geneva Convention. John McCain to this day does not have full use of his arms, although he has been able to sign on to a number of things I don't support. Give the man his due. He handled his captivity in an honorable and courageous way. Proof: Go read the memoirs of his fellow captives. GOOGLE them and buy them. You will be enlightened - maybe.
