Beloved pet ‘Scarface’ freaks out, mauls family when they tried to put a holiday sweater on him

A Florida pitbull freaked out on its family, hospitalizing two of them, when they attempted to put a Christmas sweater on him.

The dog, named Scarface, attacked its owner Brenda Guerrero when she went to put the garment on him and then bit her husband, Ismael Guerrero when he struggled to wrestle the angry dog off of his wife, WFTS reported.

The Guerrero’s adult son Antoine Harris was next to attempt a rescue by stabbing Scarface in the head with a knife, but he too was attacked.

All three family members ran into the home and left the dog in the backyard while they called police for help.

DIVA live meltdown! ‘With 15 minutes remaining, 2016 claimed its final victim: Mariah Carey’s career’

When animal control arrived they too had issues with containing the angry dog, according to WFTS.

“Officers responding said the dog was pretty aggressive,” Tampa police spokesman Eddy Durkin said. “When they tazed the dog the dog was still pulling away and was able to release the prongs from the tazer.”

Animal control used a tranquilizer gun and when the dog made its way into the home where the children were in the back room, police used a bean bug gun. Authorities were eventually able to be captured with use of a “catch pole.”

Brenda Guerrero’s injuries were considered serious but non-life threatening, WFTS said.

It is unknown if the dog will be euthanized.

Unfortunately this breed was bread to be a fighter and is known to even attack their owner...

Handling many a claim involving them and they do cause horrendous injuries...Not just a simple bite.....

Most likely will have to be put down..

Why in the world would anyone want a breed like these ?

Local Pittbull broke his chain and attack a woman walking her small dog on the sidewalk and ended up killing her !

Time and time again owners claim that these dogs are great even around their kids ! Sorry folks that is nothing short of being insane !

Can not understand why anyone with kids would have such an animal. I know as I am an expert on 'dog' matters, in fact I owned a few, married a few, and being in the auto business for over 50 years bought a few,and sold a few.As for fact I even have my 'dog' day's', and at the rate things are going I am due for another. But then come January 20th we as a will send the worst dog this nation has ever had back to the pound which makes it a 'good' dog day

After having handled any number of pit bull claims and learning what I have from the experts, some is a bad rap given their breeding, but most it turns out can and do even turn on their master..I would not own one nor let children around them...I just do not trust them
..

As for married a few~~
ya got me with that one....

Amen to JANUARY 20th 2017!!!!

American FIRST.....

Happy New Year......

Jer , what do you think I meant by "what they were bread for.." It's not the dogs fault, it is its condition even through liter after liter, etcetcetc...

As for education of them, as I said, I have first hand knowledge of them and how they have that death hold, go for the throat, shaking and refusing to release..

They do get an unfair prejudice because "the breed" itself includes many different named " pit bulls"..You are correct about that....But given what I know I am not comfortable with them...

"The kind of people" is exactly correct...

Happy New Year, Jer

Sometimes that is the only remedy..Tazer guns don't put them down incapacitated etc..

Here's one that happened Sept 2016
http://blog.dogsbite.org/2016/06/2016-dog-bite-fatality-7-year-old-boy-corinna-maine.html?m=1

Hunter Bragg, 7, was killed by a pit bull while visiting the dog owner's home in Corinna.

Medical Examiner's Report
UPDATE 08/25/16: Local newspapers obtained a copy of the state medical examiner’s report for 7-year old Hunter Bragg. On June 4, Hunter was fatally attacked in the throat and face by a male pit bull while visiting his father at the home of Gary Merchant Jr. at 207 Moody’s Mill Road in Corinna. Hunter’s father, Jason Bragg, was living in a camper on Merchant’s property, states the report. Bragg was still trying to revive his son through CPR when first responders arrived.

Hunter died of “sharp and blunt force wounds of the neck” and “multiple blunt and sharp force injuries of [his] head,” states the medical examiner’s report. Injuries to his head and face included “sharp and blunt force wounds” inflicted on the boy’s face and scalp. The pit bull repeatedly attacked the boy until it executed the killing bite. Our hearts go out to Hunter’s father, who will live with witnessing the horrific destruction this pit bull inflicted on his son for the rest of his life.<snip>....

I have to disagree with some here. I don't believe it is the dog itself, but it's environment, and treatment. Yes, the pit bull breed is known for being aggressive, but many others have been labeled the same way in the past.
They have been inbred, mixed bred, and bred for fighting. But I believe that, on the whole, they are like any other dog who wants to love, and be loved. I say this because I have witnessed it myself. I had to dig a hole, and put our Bella in it, and cover her with dirt a few months back. She was a smaller Pit, pure bred, and nothing but a sweetheart. We have 2 other dogs, and the only problem ever was when my Kelpie, Gus attacked her for stepping a little too far into his daily routine. She only fought to defend herself, and knew her boundaries after that.
I have been around many like her. They are a much maligned breed in my opinion.

I've had six different pit bulls, never ever would they attack me. They would protect me to the death, mine are all great with other dogs and people. However the breed is designed to seek out and destroy aggression of.any kind, so act accordingly in their presence. All other innuendo about the breed is from folks who are.afraid of their own shadows. If I was attacked.by somebody's pit bull, you must simply show them you are higher on the food chain. requote=jer48]learn about the breed before running your mouth always bad publicity about the breed the good is hardly ever reported[/quote]
