We must follow the 10 commandments
Let’s look at Jeremiah 7:9. Every one of these acts violate a commandment. The 10 commandments are found in Exodus 20:1 - 17 and Deuteronomy 5:6 - 21. We will examine each act and the scriptures that speak against the action.
Stealing - This is taking things that don’t belong to you. Taking material possessions without giving something in exchange. Exodus 20:15 and Deuteronomy 5:19 says don’t steal.
Murder - The taking of human life. Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17 says don’t murder.
Adultery - A married person having sex with someone other than their spouse. Exodus 20:14 and Deuteronomy 5:18 forbids adultery.
Swearing falsely - Saying things that aren’t true. Exodus 20:16 and Deuteronomy 5:20 prohibit bearing false witness.
Burn incense unto Baal and walk after other gods whom ye know not - Idolatry Exodus 20:3 and Deuteronomy 5:7 forbids the worship of anything but God.
God never criticizes for lack of worship.
The Decalogue was written in stone by the hand of God and it is forever valid. God gave us the commandments as a covenant and contract. If we keep God's law, we will enter Heaven when we die.
