Like Ford Motor Company, Carrier did an assessment of the costs of moving, tooling etc. As part of that normal business assessment they factored in; a) this guy was NOT supposed to be elected and b) the favors we bought from Hilary with donations to the Clinton Initiative (boy, that was money down a rat hole in more ways than one!) are wiped out and c) the PROMISE of double digit penalties on imported goods from their new Mexican factory. The business driven outcome? The risk is too great that the penalties WILL happen ergo more profitable to stay here. It's all about shareholder interests NOT politics.

We can expect nothing but this sort of nonsense from Leftists from now on. Anything good for America is bad for a Leftist. But we ain't seen nothing yet. Wait til The Donald sets up the SCOTUS for the next generation if not more and wait til the 2018 mid-terms when we wipe them out in the congress and wait til the GDP is pushing 5% per quarter ... hoo bubba, then we will see some real nonsense ...

I will tell you that I am delighted that 1000 jobs are remaining in Indiana... That is great...

But I am also waiting to find out the cost... what did United get in return?

Carrier is the most profitable division and yet they wanted to move it to Mexico..

United gets 10% of profits from government contracts.. They also are given one and half Billion dollars for research and development for the DOD projects.

With a predicted large surge in defense spending.. How much is now going to go into United coffers?

What the cost of this job saver needs to be public... Will the taxpayers, particular the Indiana taxpayer get a good return for the buck?

United is a greedy company... They may have forced a high price for these jobs..

This event does not change my opinion of Trump. That is true. But saving jobs is good.

We also must know the facts of the agreement..

whatever they were, can every other company get the same deal.

Most of all, how expensive is it? I think most of the members of OPP are concerned about the national Dept..
