I am a 72 year old US Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam era. I live on an acreage in the Midwest. I am a retired Nurse Anesthesiologist. I am a widower and live with two dogs, a few cats, an African Gray Parrot, and 4 horses. I was raised a Kennedy Democrat and changed affiliation on the last night of the 1968 Democrat convention. Even though I am a registered Republican, I consider myself an independent. I am pro life, pro Constitution (as written), and an orthodox Roman Catholic.

Hello and welcome to OPP. You have had an interesting life, and you and I have things in common.. I hope you have a thick skin, because some people on this site can get somewhat rough... but I have confidence that you can handle almost any situation. Again, I extend a warm welcome!

Welcome Soquiliwodi.

I will turn 65 this month and I too started out as a Democrat, I stayed with that party longer than I should have for local political reasons, but changed to Republican as well. It's too bad there isn't a disgusted party to join. After the spineless, self-serving behavior of the Republicans since Obama took office it's hard to want any affiliation with them anymore.
I will mention use the quote reply button so we will know who you are responding to and have at it

Vet and Patriot. True I followed the GOP until this election and now I only follow Trump. The rest of the GOP can kiss my fanny along with the lefties. You are thinking like I do. Good to have another Navy person around.

A COUNTRY GETS THE LEADERS IT DESERVES! THIS IS AN INDICATOR OF THE BEHAVIOR, ATTITUDE AND PERSPECTIVES OF THE PEOPLE. CORRUPTION COMES FROM WITHIN. IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS SELF-CENTERED AND SELF-SERVING, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT. DENIAL AND CO-DEPENDENCE.

Great to have another Patriot among us. I'm still a Kennedy Democrat, hoping to see them turn around, which will probably never happen. So, I pick the less likely to win during the primary, then vote for those whom will support the Constitution in the General.

Welcome Aboard!

Do you regret committing aggression against an independent nation invaded by the French Foreign Legion to set up a puppet regime opposed by 80% of the Vietnamese according to President Eisenhower in his memoir "Mandate for Change"?

Welcome aboard. I am also a recovering democrat since leaving the army in 73. I was a Republican up till last week when I sent my 'get bent' letter to the enabler party's headquarters in D. C. So since I sure the Hell ain't green I guess I'm an independent too.

Two questions 1.Do you show this much respect to all military vets? 2. and which branch of the service did you serve our nation? Remember, Welfare is not a branch of the military.

Welcome aboard, Soq. I'm a 73 year old US Navy {disabled} vet - WPBVA, have dog and 3 cats, widower, retired Charter Boat Captain, and my last (D) trip was John Kerry - how embarrassing. I'm full-out "Trumpster," {Cyrus, "The Good Shepherd"}, pro-life, Constitutionalist, Catholic. Republicans who don't go with their (R) ticket are RINO'S, and deserve to be ousted from government positions; post haste. Good luck, never take the "red-diaper" OPPers seriously, and always remember "pigeons and chess." To expect a cognizant response from the few "glucose's & Maximsuckman's" on OPP would be like expecting an exciting game of chess with a pigeon. "They knock over all the pieces, crap all over the board and waddle away like they won the game" {Putin, about BHO}!!! Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!

What the hell? So, this is your welcome aboard? You are sick mister and need your head examined. I take it you are a Democrat, I asume because this is the way these cowards talk, well go blame your leader at the time LBJ. I also assume that you never served, because you're a coward. Thank God men like Soquiliwodi did serve and preserved your right to blow smoke out your rear. Welcome aboard Soquiliwodi.

Welcome aboard, Soquiliwodi...enjoy the ride.

BTW, it is my understanding that Marvin Sussman is a decorated Combat Veteran of WWII, to include D-Day and its aftermath. Agree or disagree with him, whatever his thoughts/opinions are, he certainly earned the right to his expression of such.
