A Question of Honor

Why haven't the two ex-Seals who gave their lives to protect fellow Americans at the Benghazi Embassy been recommended for posthumous Congressional Medals of Honor?

I can think of no greater public example of self sacrifice, in service to their country, in the last three wars.

Don't expect that, the ones giving medals aren't on their side!

I am aware that it is not politically expedient for our Congress to recognize their sacrifice. They are too busy protecting their perks and backsides to honor those brave men.

Today I have raised a flag in their honor and I will continue to do so. It may come to nothing but there will be one American who knows valor and integrity and recognizes those who possess both.

I would consider it to be my honor to be able to salute these warriors.

Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:
“To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his gods,

“And for the tender mother
Who dandled him to rest,
And for the wife who nurses
His baby at her breast,
And for the holy maidens
Who feed the eternal flame,
To save them from false Sextus
That wrought the deed of shame?

“Hew down the bridge, Sir Consul,
With all the speed ye may;
I, with two more to help me,
Will hold the foe in play.
In yon strait path a thousand
May well be stopped by three:
Now who will stand on either hand,
And keep the bridge with me?”

Hillary Clinton responded -- Stand Down

Our National Veterans Cemeteries are host to the remains of many service members who
went above and beyond yet denied proper recognition duet to political reasons. I watched it
many times during my extended involvement in time of war. It's nauseating to say the least.

I suspect the highest medal they could be awarded, since they were not active military (to my knowledge) at the time of their deaths, would be the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I could see them being awarded that, even at this late date.

You are most likely correct. I did siome research on this and while they don't specifically state the Medal has to easrned while on active duty it is implicit in all of the requirements. Rightfully so, except for the special instance that their deaths were incurred while they were actively defending United States territory (the Consulate) and the lives of the ambassador and his staff. If the will was there the Congress could do it.

Another problem is that there seems to have been a deliberate effort to minimize Medal of Honor awards. Many worthy nominees have bee downgraded to a lesser Medal and there are numerous cases of continued efforts to get the upgrades for a large number of heros.

Finally, the President and the Secretary of State appear to have been complicit in the Benghazi deaths and given the current impending elections they do not want any information surfacing. Maybe Trump will issue a Medal if he is elected.

You really don't know? Because they disobeyed Obama's and Hillary Clinton's 'STAND-DOWN' orders, left the CIA compound, and went to the Benghazi consulate, and saved all those American lives, even though the Ambassador and his aide were already dead, because of the delay in deciding to disobey that stand-down order, and brought all the Americans they saved back to the CIA compound, which the terrorist then followed and attacked the CIA compound, killing these brave Americans, who believe the lives of their fellow Americans are more important than following an ill-conceived order, that did nothing but sacrifice American lives. It is as simple as that. If they were given the 'Medal of Honor', which they so dearly deserve, it would put a bad light on Obama and Hillary Clinton, the architects of this unprotected disaster that caused the lost of the lives of 4 great patriotic Americans in Benghazi, who were waiting, while fighting to protect their fellow Americans, a military rescue team that was never sent. An infamous incident in the history of the American military.

The last thing Congress wants to do is create more publicity around the Benghazi incident.
Members of Congress know that those killed at Benghazi were killed in retribution for U.S. involvement in Gaddafi's murder.
Contrary to what the Western media claims, Gaddafi was loved by the people of Libya for sharing Libya's oil wealth with all his people.

What bothers me is that the attack was allowed to continue unhindered! Blatantly shows intent!

Hellary would have mud on her face should they be rightfully honored.
Can't have that!
