If you are a Democrat voter, then I have an honest, sincere question to ask you: Why in the world would you EVER vote for a political party that has NEVER been successful at ANYTHING except the murder in the womb (sometimes NOT in the womb) of 61 million babies????; at losing wars since the 1950's; at taking GOD out of American schools, public square, some church denominations, Christmas, Easter, our Constitution and laws, etc., etc.,...;
at taking ANY common sense resolution of any issue and turning everything about it upside down, and then (in concert with our Communist-inspired media) use the most time-proven propagandist tool known to mankind --- REPITITION!!!
I am not being mean, I seriously would be thankful to get a rational response that is reasonable, factual, and believable!!!

I guess winning the second world war and ending the depression bringing about the growth of the greatest middle class in history are not much to hang your hat on. So then the post Reagan balanced budgets under Clinton and Obamas repair of the Bush great recession need to be mentioned.

Economists have criteria for what constitutes a depression and a recession, and this was not a depression, but we did come close. We have been recovering slowly for the last half dozen years. Why so slowly? I think two main reasons: first, the economic climate was changing before the crash of 2008, but that sped up the changes going on. We simply cannot ever get back to the kind of economy we had in the '90's, let alone that of the '60s and '70s. Productivity is at an all time high. That means more work is done by fewer people. I don't think we have figured out how to deal with that, but we won't bring back "the good old days." I have mentioned before on this site that I live in an area whose economy is dependent on iron mining. Today, 1,000 "miners" can produce the same amount of iron ore that 4,000 did forty years ago. (I put miners in quotes because a lot of the jobs are not what one thinks of when one imagines mining. Many of them sit at computers and don't get their hands dirty.) Second, no matter what trade agreements are negotiated or voided, we live in a global economy. Again, using the example of mining, I was amazed when miners I knew started thoughtfully discussing the relative price of taconite pellets (the form of iron ore we produce) shipped from Trinidad, Australia, and Brazil compared to pellets produced here on "the Iron Range" of northeastern Minnesota. If they couldn't compete, they would fail. And some huge taconite plants (mining is as much a manufacturing process as an extracting process today) have closed because they weren't competitive. A different example: when I call my regional telephone company, which started out as an adjunct to the railroads that were built to haul iron ore to Lake Superior, I usually end up speaking to someone with an Indian accent. I don't think he's a Minnesotan. So to me, it is great news that the economy is recovering. Unemployment is going down, wages are rising. Maybe we can figure out a way to avoid the cycle of boom and bust that has been part of our history for centuries.

Thank you for responding, Kevyn. I want you and all readers of my post to know I do not intend to play "gotcha" with your responses! I respect the mindsets of rational people, even if I think they're wrong! That is the duty of evangelical Christians as we believe the GOD of the universe reveals HIMSELF in HIS WORD, THE HOLY BIBLE; thus, our mission is to love others and present HIM in order to fulfill HIS WILL for all people to accept HIS FREE GIFT OF SALVATION! HE created us and gave us free will; HE could have, with HIS POWERS, made us into robots and slaves to HIM! But HE wants us to be HIS children and HIS FAMILY! Since HE GIVES US FREE WILL, HE demonstrates HIS desire to be loved by us because love cannot be forced and really be a familial love!
Of course, not everyone accepts HIS love or even believes HE exists!!! We are not a religion, but rather have a relationship with GOD THE FATHER of us all regardless of whether others agree with our beliefs or not!
So, I love you because HE does, and like HIM, we want the very BEST for others!!! I pray HIS blessings upon all HIS CREATION! I grew up in an America that respected others, that a great majority were honest, that had dignity, that their word was their bond, they were non-violent, they were patriotic and proud of the freedoms that are GOD-given to us all through HIS MERCY AND GRACE!!!

We're a nation of immigrants....a melting pot....maybe we should just teach the religious beliefs of the American Indians ??.....best to keep religion out of public schools all together....that's something this Country will not be going back to

That was quite an interesting way to invite any democrat into a conversation and to than expect a respectful reply. IMO Kevin did an excellent job without an adverser attack, it case you're not aware it was extremely insulting to an entire party. Most by the way are Christians, most who would never get an abortion, but don't have the need to control others choices.

Any fix the country is in isn't the fault of one party, that's not how are governing system works.

In most public schools reciting prayers has never been part of their curriculum, now saluting the flag use to be and I can see you complaining about that, but it's not a religion and you can't find fault with any one party on that, you would have to literally go school to school.

You speak of your Christian love because God tells you to, love comes from the heart, otherwise it is quite insincere and basically untrue, as your beginning post reflects, sorry I just don't feel the love there.

I do feel the love in the democratic party when they stand up for the rights of others, yes as in the gay community or any others. I may not agree with everything, but that's not what free thinking is about, and presently I do support that as another reason to support the democratic party in the voting booth.

You did a good job of expressing your reasons for voting DEMOCRAT. Thank you. By the way, both parties are democratic parties (and any other American political party) as we are a democratic republic! A Democrat is just that, a Democrat!
And, Morgan, one more thing: freedom from ANY source, be it God, country, etc,
requires one's allegiance and accountability
to that source if we are to really be free! But free thinking does not give one freedom, only an allegiance to no one or anything! There are no principles or morals or values involved in "free" thinking! Free thinking is dangerous for society!!!

Yes, bilordinary, but I wanted a rational reason for voting Democrat. You see, I don't believe a rational person would vote Democrat. Now, I'm not being snarky, I just want (as per my post), to get your reasoning to vote Democrat because I am puzzled. I'm glad you are rational and responsible and I wish all people that can be, would be! Thanks for your time, man!
