Diversions

Diversions have been used for 1000's of years as a tool to fool enemies, allies and sometimes, one's own people. Diversions are designed to get the target to look THERE, while you're doing something over HERE, leaving the target in the dark about what you've done - until it's too late for them to respond. Remember the elaborate diversion of WWII, getting Hitler to look for an invasion at Calais? There are 1000's of examples of successful diversions, unfortunately, many of those examples exist right here in the USA, right now.

Hear much about Senate races? Congressional races? Nope. Why not? Well, the Presidential race is getting all the attention. Hmm, that seems rather strange - don't it? The Congress controls the nations purse strings, the President does not. The Congress writes law, the President does not. The Senate and House majority leaders control the Senate and House, the President has no control over Congress - at all. The President does negotiate treaties, of course, that have to be ratified by the Congress - like The Trans Pacific Partnership.

So, I'm wondering; if the President has such limited power and influence and the Congress has so much, why are we consumed with the Presidential race, to the exclusion of all the other races? It's a diversion - and a highly successful one at that. In the last 7 years, we've spent more time moaning and groaning about what the President did or did not do, and virtually NO time worrying about what the Congress did, or more accurately - did NOT do. Don't like Obama and the ACA? The Congress would have dealt with the ACA long ago, in fact, the last 3 elections were predicated on repealing it. So, why hasn't it been repealed? The GOP has had the majority in the house since 2010 and the Senate since 2014 - so what have they been doing, or the more appropriate question, why have they NOT done anything that they promised to do? As long as they keep us focused on the Presidential race, we'll never know, because we'll never ask those questions.

Do you know what your own Representative has been up to? Have you looked or asked? What have your Senators voted for, or voted against? Are you preparing to punish your Representatives for failing you, by voting for their rivals this November? If not, WHY not? I know, you were distracted by the primaries, now the Presidential race and just didn't have the time to think about the Congress - making the diversion a successful one.

Remember, the Congress could have dealt with the Southern border decades ago, but chose not to - and no President can make them do it now. The Congress could have dealt with illegal immigration decades ago, but chose not to - and no President can make them do it now. The Congress could have reformed the tax codes long ago, but chose not to - and no President can make them do it now. The Congress could have repealed the ACA, fixed it or replaced it years ago, but chose not to. Every single problem mentioned by every single Presidential hopeful, was known to the Congress long ago - and they have chosen not to do anything about them - and no President can make them do so now.

The President can't really do much about all the problems that have been pointed out - but the Congress can - so why are we singularly focused on the person who has the LEAST impact on our lives, instead of the people who have the MOST? We're victims of a diversion, and if we're not careful, we'll spend the next 4 years being diverted from the true source of all our ills - the United States Congress. BTW, the President may nominate someone to the Supreme Court, but they don't sit on the bench - until the Congress confirms them. Get the picture now?

Gotta love those diversions.
Trey Gowdy has said that he won't run again.
Lindsay Graham has stated that he will run to DC and pass every bill FOR immigration the minute Hillary gets elected.
Our government is rotten from the bottom up. Trickle up corruption.
County Council refuses to fight for our rights, namely eminent domain.
The chief of police gives free reign to the Black Lives Matter protesters and allows the protesters block the highway---with no permit required to hold a demonstration.
Our illustrious governor Haley has diverted attention to the "wonderful" jobs she brings into the state, not mentioning the tax exemptionseason and state money spent on appeasing the big companies.
Columbia is as dirty as the good ole boys can make it--scraping the bottom of the barrel to tax every food and gas money in the name of tourism. We only had $300,000 million extra left over in the budget for road repair.
All of the money goes to Charleston (put the money where it is already).
I, for one, do pay attention. I am lied to every step of the way.
State sovereignty is the first step because it will bring issues back to the people.

So am I - but how? Diet and exercise? The GOP is supposed to be for "smaller government" right? Isn't that one of Ryan's big "ideas"? Alrighty then - why has the Government GROWN instead of get smaller, with the GOP in control of Congress? Did you miss that little nugget while listening to inane and irrelevant promises from people who could not reduce the size of Government - even if they REALLY wanted to?

If merely making the statement "I'm for smaller Government" could make it happen - the Government could fit inside my house by now. Do you hear anyone in DC talking about deleting the huge and totally useless Department of Homeland Security ( that's an oxymoron if there ever was one )? The Congress is fond of blaming the President for budget deficits, even though the Congress has the only "pen" that spends our money. How much money has Obama asked for - from the Congress? You see, if the President can spend money however he wants - he wouldn't need to ask the Congress for a dime.

If you really want to know what's REALLY going on, who's doing what, or NOT doing what, don't listen to campaign speeches, which are rife with rhetoric and zero substance, don't listen to the MSM, which are someone else's lapdog PR outlet, and don't peruse partisan websites, which are nothing but PR spin on the same shit you can hear in a campaign speech - look up Congressional voting records, spending records and the like. All these things are available to the public, if they care to look, and THIS is the information that is modified for mass consumption, or "spin".

When you do the work required to get accurate and truthful information right from the source, you're not subject to the usual diversions. I'll say it again; the President ( no matter who that may be ) can NOT reduce the size of the Government, reduce it's spending, reduce or increase the size of the military, reform tax law, or any law - only the Congress can do that - and they have chosen NOT do any of it. A President cannot make the Congress do anything. Remember the "State of the Union" speeches where the President has tried to shame the Congress into doing it's job? As you can see, they can't BE shamed, because they're shameless moochers - and you can't see that, as you're being diverted by the Presidential clown race.

And elections start at our front door.
Trying to get my neighborhood involved is like_______.
My next door neighbor is writing in Jeb, and will vote for Graham again!
We have to start at the city level, which is where these werewolves cut their teeth.
My delegate is a Ted Cruz worshiper ($$$$) named LaDonna Riggs.
Trickle up corruption.
