It's clear that Donald Trump is on course to lose this election -- badly. What's even worse, though, is that he's bankrupting the Republican Party in the process. As Open Secrets reports:

Virtually every category of receipts shows a decline this year. Contributions from individuals where the amount given is less than $200 (the “un-itemized” category) is less than half what it was in July of 2004, 2008 and 2012. There is a similar decline in direct contributions of larger amounts where specific information about the donor is included in the report. These itemized contributions total much less than July 2004 and 2008 and are even smaller than July 2012 when joint fundraising became much more important.

These joint fundraising efforts where the presidential campaign works together with the national party and state parties around the country are increasingly important, and the RNC total from those efforts also lags in July compared with 2012 and 2008. The Trump campaign has talked about huge joint fundraising successes, but neither the campaign nor the RNC has received all that much from this process so far comparatively.

People often look at cash balances and the end of the month to get a feel for how a committee is positioned for future spending. Here too, the RNC on July 31 was strikingly short of its own status on the same date in past campaigns. At a time when $70 to $90 million is the norm, the RNC finds itself with only $34.5 million in the bank.

The Trump campaign bragged about their uptick in fundraising, but a deeper look inside the numbers shows that the RNC only has $15 million in usable cash. That is $15 million for every race, data operation, voter registration, and get out the vote effort in the country. Donald Trump’s refusal to build a campaign operation in all 50 states has resulted in the RNC having to spend their resources. Trump doesn’t have a data operation, so the RNC is using party resources for that too.

In other words, Trump is bleeding the GOP dry. He isn't doing anything to create a political machine. Everything has to be organized and paid for by the RNC.

That is a lie coupled with an opinion. Trump has carried his own campaign with his own money from the start. The GOP has done everything in their power to stop him and it hasn't worked. So if they are losing money on this election, I would say for one, it's their own fault for not backing their parties choice. Secondly, they made the mistake of thinking that Trump would not garner the support that he has. I know if elected, he will attempted to follow his original plans. Hopefully, he will get rid of the scum suckers that have done absolutely nothing for the american citizens except demonize them. Like I said in the beginning, if it's a choice between Clinton and Trump, Trump will be my choice!
Something he said at the beginning of his campaign that made sense to me, and should have been done from the beginning, was take complete control of the oil industry in the countries that we first defeated instead of leaving them to countries not prepared to protect them. This would have created a balanced budget for the U.S. and created better trade for the country. Russia, China and all the other countries would have been forced to do business exclusively with us. This would have put a stop for the race for which country would control economies.

IMO; A whole lot of Republicans are holding back donations to the RNC, because it tried to sabotage Trump's nomination. I think the RNC is almost as crooked as the DNC. Both are private funds; greasing the palms of who?

Donate directly to specific conservative candidates.

Good, those RINOs need a taste of their own medicine, they towed the Obama line and drove our nation so deep into debt we'll be lucky to see daylight within a hundred years.

"Political machine"? We don't need another stinking political machine.

Perhaps you two will more enjoy my other recently posted thread, 'History shows that Hillary Clinton is unlikely to win in 2016.' Fair & balanced my fellow Marines, as I care for neither The Donald or Hillary. I have posted threads regarding their flaws and my distaste and distrust for each of them. Besides, my threads have been 'cut 'n pastes' from professional writers and columnists from both sides of the aisle. Not surprisingly, Mr. Trump's supporters appear to be the most thin-skinned...much like him.

After all, this is a forum for representation and discussion of all viewpoints, is it not

Off topic, two questions for you, Mongo: 1) How is the fishing on Lake Falcon, & 2) How does the flow of illegals appear from your vantage point near the border Lake Amistad is the only Texas/Mexico border lake I have ever frequented.

Well my brother, I have yet to enjoy the simpler things in life like fishing. This is largely due to my wife keeping me on a short leash. My days,(for now), are taken up with important projects,(honey-dos' that is). When she feels that I have completed my tasks to her expectations, then we will enjoy some down time at a lake or the ocean. As far as immigrants, there's no telling as I live before the major check-point. The border check-point seems to be doing a pretty good job though. The cartels do use the river for transport of their wares but the border patrol seems to get the larger shipments or at the least, chase them back. I hope you and the family are doing good.
