Pastors Not Teaching the Whole Scripture
Researched by Pastor Gary Boyd

We are living in the most incredible times on earth like no previous generation that has existed before. The planet is spiraling head long pell-mell towards a magnificent conclusion with the return of Jesus Christ to set up his kingdom though nobody knows the timing on this. But Jesus told us to read the signs of the times we are in.

Signs of the Times

The disciples of Jesus asked Him, “What will be the sign of Your [second] coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus replied, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:3-4). Jesus went on to describe an outline of events that would give clear evidence of when the end of the age was near (verses 5-31).

In this section of Scripture, Jesus said, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (chosen)” (verse 24). He followed with, “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!” (verse 33).

Speaking directly about the generation that will be alive at His second coming, that just happens to be the baby boomer generation, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place” (verse 34). Then Jesus said, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect (the rapture)” (verses 42, 44).

The instruction to “be ready” has everything to do with being able to discern the signs of the times and being spiritually prepared.
A state of readiness

Fast forward to today and there are so many prophecy-related events happening daily and hourly that it presents a major dilemma for those of us watching the signs of the times to know just where to focus. As I post stories daily on my Facebook page and blog, I agonize that I must leave off so many as space and time won't allow readers to zero in on all that is happening!

It is a honor & privilege as well as a challenge to be born in this last generation for such a time as this. Very little that is predicted to happen in the "last days" is good news, we must however, discern what is coming and ready the believers and unbelievers that the time is short, indeed at the door. However, if one can "look up" and you can bear the heartache of looking around you will see the signs of the times explode on the world stage.

To Be Watchmen

The Bible asks us to be "watchmen" (Ezekiel 33) saying, “Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people.”

We thus must sound an alarm to our generation of what is to come. We're to be sounding an alarm. Trouble is ahead. Time is short. And I have never felt such a sense of urgency and the realization that time is, indeed, these end of days are at the door.

I am watching signs "converge." They are stunning and breathtaking. But most pastors will not talk about them!

Jan Markell, end time watchmen, states, “LifeWay Research is a Nashville-based, evangelical research firm that specializes in surveys about faith in culture and matters that affect the church. They report that a third of America's Protestant pastors expect Christians to be Raptured -- or taken up in the sky to meet Jesus -- as the last of the last days begin. Over 36% believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture. In spite of this glorious good news, their pulpits remain silent.

Over 50% of Protestant pastors, according to the survey, believe in a literal Antichrist -- but their pulpits are silent.

Most pastors hold to the basic teachings of Christ's Second Coming -- but their pulpits are silent.

This same survey says almost 50% of Protestant pastors believe in a coming Millennium and hold to premillennialism. At this time we finally do away with the curse and fallen human nature -- but their pulpits are silent.”

Pastor Tom Hughes that leads The 412 Church in San Jacinto, California has written a thoughtful article titled, "Five Reasons Pastors Don't Teach Bible Prophecy." He writes, "Prophecy fills the Bible. Endtime prophecy touches every person alive today. Jesus taught on it. So did John, Paul, Peter, James, and Jude. Yet only a small percentage of churches teach this crucial part of God's message to our generation.”

"Some pastors don't teach it for theological reasons. They don't believe it, don't think it applies to us, consider it symbolic, or whatever. Others believe we're probably living near the end of the age, but still refuse to touch the topic. They see it as an elective part of God's curriculum. Take it or leave it."

Hughes continues, "That's not how Jesus saw it. He reprimanded the Pharisees and Sadducees for not discerning the times. 'When it is evening you say, it will be fair weather, for the sky is red; and in the morning, it will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening. Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.' " (Matthew 16:2-3 NKJV)

Hughes concludes, "More than a quarter of the Bible is prophecy -- much of it yet to be fulfilled. How can we give congregations a well-rounded understanding of scripture if we leave out such a vital part of it?"

This then is the problem, the whole of scripture is not being taught. How can pastors teach only 75% of what God says in scripture and yet leave out the most vital part? Perhaps they are worried about losing parts of their congregation, but then again if they do not preach Bible prophecy those in the pew will be lost anyway!

Hughes Lists Reasons

He then goes on to list these five reasons pastors may not be sharing these issues in the pulpit:

1) They don't understand prophecy.

2) They fear offending members of the church.

3) They sense this will scare people.

4) People might not tithe if they think we're close to the end.

5) There is fear in looking like the "loony-tune fringe. The Harold Campings have done great damage.

If you do your research you will find that The prophecies of the first coming of Christ were fulfilled. They stand as evidence that the word of God can be trusted. Prophecies of His second coming work the same way, except we get to witness these events in our time in person, often with our own eyes.

God’s Hidden Hand

The nations of the world seem moved, as though by God’s hidden hand, into exactly the right positions on a global chessboard. What an amazing thing to see it happening before our eyes! It builds faith and draws our attention to look up for our redeemer draweth nigh.

Russia has moved into the Middle East as predicted in Ezekiel, Turkey has flip flopped into a dictatorship with Erdogan surrounding a Nato Base that has tactical nukes (speculation is he may seize them), Israel is preparing for War with Iran & Hezbollah, Scripture says Damascus, the capital of Syria, will be destroyed.

"Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap ... And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us." Isaiah 17:1,14

"Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!" Jeremiah 49:24-25

Isaiah 17:1 states, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”

-"Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Is this clear?
"Taken Away From Being a City.." is talking about total destruction coming on one of the oldest cities on the earth that has never been destroyed. It is not anymore crystal clear then that! This means this is future tense and God says Israel will be her destroyer.
There will also come judgment against Iran (Persia) as stated below:

Jeremiah 12:14, “Thus says the LORD concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance (promised land) with which I have endowed My people Israel, Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them.” This is a modern day prophecy speaking of Iran being run out of their land because of something Israel, with God’s hand, will cause to happen to Iran, one of the chief enemies of Israel.

Conclusion

I believe the true church is headed into the end of days home stretch of her history! I base that not on emotions or wishful thinking. I base that on what I see happening daily. Man can live for a week or two without food. We can live only days without water. But our spirits are crushed within hours without hope.

We have the good news of the ultimate hope -- the "blessed hope." (Titus 2:13) His glorious appearing. Pastors, please don't remain silent! Share the only good news out there.

Matthew 24:30-36 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory…Now learn a parable of the fig tree (Israel); When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

Jesus said in Matthew, the generation (baby boomers) that sees Israel created as a nation again, that generation will not pass away until it sees the coming of the son of man. So then let's do some math. A generation is 70 to 80 years. If you add 80 onto 1948 you get 2028. The great tribulation will last 7 years. Take away 7 from 2028 you have 2021. The year is 2016 and subtracting that from 2021 you have 5 years. God says he will come in the rapture before the great tribulation. That means we have five short years to prepare, to be saved, be in the word, following the ten commandments before he comes for his own in the rapture. I can not be anymore clear than this. You need to get right with God for he is coming soon for his own. Maranatha…...
