This is a topic I've been interested in for a while. The cognitive differences between conservatives and progressives are stark. George Lakoff has done a lot of work on the linguistics and communications styles. I' expectations read that conservatives operate with a Pleistocene era brain, i.e. Fright and flight, and that progressives operate with more modern brains.
