Naval Captains meeting in the Pentagon agree that the Navy of the US has been seriously depleted and will have trouble fighting anyway but defensively on our coast. I bet it is very embarrassing to have been part of the strongest navy in the world and now seeing themselves having to take parts from one fighting machine to another to keep one of them going. I believe that Obama and his friends have almost reached the plateau they wanted to get to.

Is this the result of Obama's policies or the result of the budget compromise made to avoid a shutdown where conservatives insisted we cut government spending? This year 5 billion will be cut form defense all because conservatives like Cruz were willing to shut down government instead of fund the programs that needed to be funded. Yeah it's a bitch but you guys got most of the budget cuts you wanted.

the real problem is the same as the problem with our bridges, roads, and train tracks. these were the best in the world in the 50's, but we have not maintained them, as ike said "beware of the military-industrial complex" ' they want what is best for them, not what is best for Americia.

A strong military is what's best for America if we are going to continue to stick our nose in everyone's business.Sooner or later we're going to pay for it.

China and Russia are getting stronger and stronger.I don't care who made the cuts,they've been made.All I'm saying is to weaken our military at a time when we are fighting any and everyone's battles is a mistake.

Could you list those battles that we are fighting? Any and everyone's? That's a lot of battles, you must have them at the top of your head.

You do realize that the heading for this thread is that Obama has destroyed...how can you not care while participating in a discussion erroneously placing blame on President Obama and not address that?
Doesn't Congress handle the appropriations for all of the defense budget? Has President Obama done a line item veto on the budget for defense?
Who is the Chair for Defense Appropriations? Who has Congressional control?
Last but not least, you are aware that the process is so long no ship that could be put into service would have been voted on in this administration, right?

I can't imagine that he is involved in humanitarian efforts, the US military NEVER does that.
So, share please, what is it that you don't understand about logic and not emotion driving rational discussions?

I can't divulge what he does or has done.all I said was our military is weak,period.I didn’t say it was Obama's fault.I don't care who's fault it is it needs to be strengthened.our soldiers deserve to have the necessary equipment to do their job.

I see here that you haven't really kept up on what the Chinese are doing with their navy. Oh well, there is a chance that some of you left leaning, Muslim supporting people may see, someday, that since our Navy and Army are both smaller than before WW II we are set up for all our more powerful enemies to come after. Of course, leaners are so very sure that we still have a military that can protect our shores and our country. You poor SOBS just can't understand that the reason our "friends" can get by without spending on defense just happens to be the fact that we do spend. That all started during WW II and continued through the 50s and 60s and even beyond, but then some of you of your group are more interested in the spread of the Muslim Caliphate than anything else.
