My new love is a Sailor.

I don't understand how this could happen to a die-hard Marine such as I, but it has. The new love in my life is a Sailor. Sailor Rae, to be exact. My son and his wife gave birth to our newest grandchild the 20th of April. To my horror and shock, her mother chose to bring a little Swabbie into our family. To BadBobby and others of his ilk, I am sure they will consider this poetic justice. It is incumbent upon me to man-up' and include this precious little being as one of 'us'...a Family of Marines. What choice do I have...she had me at 'hello.'

I guess 'Jarhead,' 'Leatherneck,' or 'Gyrene' would have been an uncomfortable fit for such a beautiful young lady, but...why not 'Bam-Bam '

slatten, Cheer up, maybe he's a corpsman. Grandchildren are the best thing about getting older. My four grandkids own me!

I don't care for your insinuation, Doc. Are you suggesting Marines are 'under-evolved '

So you get to spend the rest of your life saying, " Hey Sailor" That's just near perfect for a Marine. Don't Cha Know ?

It is only Marines who fail to understand such is the case.

"Bam-Bam" as in the Flintstones?

Congratulations on the new little one. By the way, April 20 was my brother's birthday.

Thank you. Auntie

Lucidity normally escapes me. Get lucky every once in a while.

What's worse is the likely 'role-reversal.' I could be transporting and feeding her for years.

'Bam-Bam' as in the acronym for female Marines. Maybe not for my granddaughter, though.
