My community has a beautiful dog park that circles a lake and a lot of our residents take their dogs. Now and then when I take my little girl, I see a lady sitting in her gorgeous white Lexus, either eating or reading a newspaper. Which is fine. It's a tranquil scene and who could blame her. On the bumper of her car is a sticker (yes, she must be that stupid) "Waiting For Hillary"......I've seen her now multiple times. I've just ignored it and walked my dog. Today, I have no idea what got into me, but as I was locking my car, leashing my dog, etc., she happened to look over. I took that opportunity to say "I see you are a Hillary fan".........OMG, did she ever RIP on me!!!! She had NO idea where my head was politically, because I have no stickers on my car, and never will....None the less, she called me every name in the book..... "You're for %$^&*^% Donald Trump! I can just see it in your &%$&#$ face!!! You hate barack obama because he's black.....YOU and all the other "racists" like you are the reason this country is going down the toilet! " I was so completely baffled by this, and I knew I had no chance in a shouting match, nor did I want one. I just calmly said. "Have another glass of Kool-Aid and enjoy your day. As much as you can." She was still ranting when I got in my car and left. I'm almost ready to feel sorry for these Liberal nutcases. (At a get together not long ago, this particular lady was discussed and it seems she's a retired attorney and very liberal). Ya think????
Some folks would say you had it coming for trying to have a conversation with an apparent mentally disturbed individual. Me, I congratulate you for trying to be friendly. This person certainly seems to have make an donkey of herself. Hang in there.... we can only hope that she is an exception rather than the average.

I like the OBAMA/BIDEN stickers that were around for the last few elections. There was a guy standing next to a car that had one of those bumper stickers and the car was getting a ticket for an expired parking meter. The guy was raising hell with "Lovely Rita," [the meter maid], and wouldn't stop. The insults and slurs were coming by the dozen, and with each insult came another ticket. Finally "Rita" had a writers cramp and with a few rife comments went on to ticket more cars on the block. And oddly enough, the guy that was giving "Rita" all the guff walked away also; wondering who's car that actually was with that stupid bumper sticker on it!!!

Just another example of how assholes (and attorneys!) come in all political persuasions.
Even if I were to believe this nonsensical story, it isn't any worse than similar ones from both sides of political ideology invoking every negative stereotypical image they could of the other to bolster their own moral and intellectual superiority. A clear majority of people I personally know associating themselves with either major political party are reasonable and cognizant of the need for all to work together. Very few seem condescending, full of hate and the need to diminish others to promote their own views.
But, then, there are many that I don't personally know. :wink:

Exactly. On a day to day level, at work and with family and friends, while we may discuss politics and differences in perspective I have rarely run across this sort of behavior. Jobs get done, babies get sat, beer gets drunk, all in civility.

My best encounter was in 2008 in between the election and Obama's inauguration. Bush was still President and he was not yet committed to giving GM a bailout or a lifeline of any kind. A lady was seated at a table in front of our supermarket with a " Save GM" petition to send to Bush. She had large posters everywhere. I then noticed something that really amazed me. I saw posters all over a car as well so I naturally assumed it was hers. I asked her if she owned the SUBARU OUTBACK and she said yes. I laughed in face and told her she was a disgrace and a hypocrite.
