the spoon

Last week i took some friends to a new restaurant called "Steve's Place".I noticed that the waiter who took our order had a spoon in his shirt pocket.
That seemed a little strange to me,then when the bus boy brought our water and utensils I noticed that he too had a spoon in his shirt pocket.
Then I looked around and saw that the entire personnel of the restaurant had spoons in their shirt pockets.
When the waiter came back I asked him"Why does everyone have a spoon in their pockets"?
"Well"he explained,"our owner hired a consulting firm to revamp all our processes, and after doing an analasis, they concluded that the spoon is the most often dropped utensil. They found that it represented about three drops per table per hour.
Since our personnel are now better prepared,we reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save six man hours per
shift. As luck would have it I dropped my spoon and the waiter promptly replaced it with his own." I will get another on my next trip to the kitchen, instead of making the trip now".
I must say I was impressed.,but then I noticed that he had a string hanging out of his fly. Then looking around I saw that all the personnel had strings hanging out of their flys.So before he walked off I asked him"Excuse my curiosity, but why does everyone have those strings hanging from their flys"?
"Oh sure,"he replied",Then lowering his voice he said"that consulting firm learned also that we can save time in the restroom by tying this string to our ,ahem"you know what",we can pull it out without using our hands ,thus saving the time spent having to wash our hands,by 76%
Quietly I asked"after you have it out,how do you put back without using your hands"??
"Well" he replied"I dont know about the others ,but iIalways use my spoon".
