Tired of the political circus into which the media has degraded?
Want to discuss politics and economics with sane people who actually understand what they are talking about?
Read this:

We are not some political camp blindly advocating an agenda by following a pre-set list of bullet points. Instead, we let individuals voice their opinions and back them with facts and logical reasoning.

Daily, you'll be receiving our political forum digest with the latest hottest news, analysis, discussions and some things the media simply won't report to you.

Here are just some of the things being uncovered on One Political Plaza right now:

• What hurts the economy more: the welfare or the defense spending? (The answer isn't what you thought. I guarantee it.)

• Do immigrants bring more money into the economy by being consumers or do they send more "back home"? We have some hard numbers posted.

(What if we take into account the new immigrants from Syria currently headed to the US? How does that change the immigration debate?)

• Why do politicians lie? You hear people always say that politicians are all crooks. But why is that? Why can't there be more honest politicians? Or can there? (This will surprise you, as it surprised me when I found out.)

• Is the minimum wage all about the union contracts or about actually helping those at the bottom? Does it actually help? (This will definitely change your mind about the issue.)

• Furthering LGBT equality rights through lawsuits to the point of forcing businesses to serve against their beliefs. Does that violate the rights of business owners? Or does the notion of equality trump it all?

• Will Obamacare actually solve the healthcare problem in the long run, or is just a fad that will be reversed eventually? (Some interesting arguments in favor of one of the sides. Something you probably haven't considered.)

• Join in and see for yourself. This will shock you. And it's all completely FREE!

• Let me repeat that. Since for some reason a lot of people contact us asking if the membership is really free or if there is some catch: we are a social website for people who like to discuss politics. So we don't sell anything, we don't solicit for political donations, and we don't work as a recruiting front for any party or agenda. It's as simple as that.

Enter your name and e-mail address below, and you'll be instantly added to our political mailing list distribution. Right away, you'll get access to more thought provoking content than you could imagine. And you'll get all that for free.

Don't delay! Join the best political community on the Internet.

Is Obama trying to start WW111? What is actually his reason for wanting to go to war with this country? After 9-11 the Democrats were all for going into Iraq with their vote, which made it a legal proposition for Bush, even though Democrats tried to hide behind their ignorance and impeach him for it. But now it seems that Obama believes that he can go to war without fooling around with the Congressional vote. Who or what in God's name has given this imposter the idea that he is God and we are all his disciples to agree to everything he believes correct? If he and Turncoat Kerry takes it upon themselves to go to war without approval, then they surely must be tried for treason. What alternative would there be?

Clinton bombed Bosnia, Obama bombed Libia. No liberal said, "unnecessary wars." But, Bush was mocked by going after the killers of 3500 American men, women and children on 9-11. I call them cowards? I am happy that America kicked their donkeys. Any country that doesn't fight the enemies that kill their children is a country of cowards. I will use any deadly force to protect lives, but first I want to know if the lives I am saving are Democrats, or liberals. Then. I'd have to think about what I was doing.

It's quite simple. Obama wants to spread our military so thin around the world, declare marshal law and then confiscate our guns and declare himself king. He will only be happy when he brings us down to a third world country. He will then control all our natural resources and sell the oil, natural gas, coal to countries like China. Take a close look at Cuba, Argentina and such. This is a shame. I'm glad I'm old.

WHAT IS OBAMA TRYING TO DO? Nothing. He would love for this to all go away so he can do what he does best, go around bull throwing . This is real. He does not like to live in the real world. If he can't control it he is lost. Let us hope smarter heads prevail, and he listens to them......We will have enemy's who will hate us ,and want to kill us until the moon turns to cheese , BUT, make them fear us just as much. No one rely wants to die, no matter how much they say other wise.

Good question. How can anyone know what he is doing. He does not know himself what he is doing.
Yes means no...no means yes...confused or lieing. I am to tired to be nice...

As I read and write on various blogs I wonder if the country is on the verge of civil war. Conservatives are trying to restore the country to it's historical roots with liberty to all. The Socialist want to destroy the ways of old and build a new world order of dictatorship with them in control. Never in my 71 yrs. have I seen a president try to destroy another party, that opposes him . Evidence of this can be seen in the IRS scandal, the Benghazi coverup. gun running scandal, NSA scandal. And the scandal, "I didn't do it, it was George Bush that built that". How many more are out there that we don't know about. How about a plan to take sole control of the government. Homeland Security is buying thousands of guns and billions of rounds of ammunition. Effective gun control by buying all of the available supply? Why???

When he doesn't know what to do he plays golf so he won't have to think about it. Time takes care of every thing. Perhaps, not in the way one wants. But, then he won't have to make a decision. Oh! Let us not forget that he clears his head by playing cards while the men watch the "Killing Of Osama." La-tee-dah! Democrats were so desperate to put someone in office they put a juvenile with no high school record, no college record, no law school record a no nothing job resume" (community organizer), a do nothing in the Illinois Legislature or the US Congress. Even my resume" is better than his. But, I say this he is a good teleprompter reader. But if he doesn't have it, he stumbles, and studders. It appears that he cannot think for himself. If he had to write his own speeches he would have risen to the top level of Community Organizer.

Do you think I would vote for Obama? I am not that stupid to support a candidate to run an economy as large as the US economy. Just another thread that supports my contention that he was never qualified to be president of anything but, the Democratic party. Go to prove that the Obama supporters are not good at choosing qualified candidates for president.

Here is a good one from Aristotle on Tyrants. From way back then they had tyrants.

Nearly 2,400 years ago, Aristotle wrote one of the defining works of political philosophy in a book entitled Politics. It’s still incredibly relevant today, particularly what he writes about tyranny. The ancient Greeks used the word ‘turannos’, which referred to an illegitimate ruler who governs without regard for the law or interests of the people, often through violent and coercive means. Aristotle attacks tyrants mercilessly in his book, and clearly spells out the criteria which make a leader tyrannical. You may recognize a few of them: Artistotle suggests that a tyrant rises to power by first demonstrating that he is a man of the people: “He ought to show himself to his subjects in the light, not of a tyrant, but of a steward and a king.” and “He should be moderate, not extravagant in his way of life; he should win the notables by companionship, and the multitude by flattery.” But once in power, a tyrant uses all available means to hold on to power, including spying on his people: “A tyrant should also endeavor to know what each of his subjects says or does, and should employ spies . . . and . . . eavesdroppers . . . [T]he fear of informers prevents people from speaking their minds, and if they do, they are more easily found out.” Furthermore, Aristotle tells us that a tyrant thrives by creating division and conflict– “to sow quarrels among the citizens; friends should be embroiled with friends, the people with the notables [the rich]. . .” Controlling the economy and stealing the citizens’ wealth is also another mark of a tyrant: “Another practice of tyrants is to multiply taxes. . . [and] impoverish his subjects; he thus provides against the maintenance of a guard by the citizen and the people, having to keep hard at work, are prevented from conspiring.” And as Aristotle points out, a tyrant also attempts to disarm the people such that “his subjects shall be incapable of action” because “they will not attempt to overthrow a tyranny, if they are powerless.” Naturally, a tyrant “is also fond of making war in order that his subjects may have something to do and be always in want of a leader.” Aristotle also tells us that tyrants hunt down those who oppose their power: “It is characteristic of a tyrant to dislike everyone who has dignity or independence; he wants to be alone in his glory, but anyone who claims a like dignity or asserts his independence encroaches upon his perogative, and is hated by him as an enemy to his power.” Ultimately, though, Aristotle concludes that “No freeman, if he can escape from [tyranny], will endure such a government.” He’s right. And in the past, people had to rise up in the streets to defeat tyranny. Fortunately, there are many tactics available to freedom-oriented people today that don’t involve violent revolution.

democrats are communists, Obama is a tyrant, etc etc, the usual nonsense by old white men who start with the premise that anything that uppity Obama is doing is wrong and the country is going to ruin. Like anti gay sentiment and the overt racism that underlies much of the criticism hopefully all this nonsense is literally dying off. Obama is not a tyrant, crap he can't get the do nothing useless Congress to do anything, if he was he might usefully put them all out of office, but of course he can't, next you will accuse him of being an incapable tyrant! Hey kv, did you catch yourself playing the race card there. I saw it too many times to take anything you said later to heart. Old white men was a great example of it and then came the uppity with the name Obama followed by your saying anything in support of gays and then talking about the underlying racism of people who don't like I Won. I started not liking him when he was campaign against Hillary and I sure as hell didn't want to see her get the nomination. I watched all those campaign speeches for over a year where he had all those young women cheering so loudly for him and got a bit sick hearing them yell so loud.

Let me promise you that his skin color has nothing to do with my dislike of him. The people he has appointed have often made me want to kick his butt for him but then they are willing to go along with his attempt to be a real tyrant. I could go on and on but you probably aren't reading me by now, anyway.
