My sole New Year's Resolution was to be more sociable. It's not because I experience pangs of loneliness, but I enjoy meeting people and making friends. I should do more of that, I decided. I should also devote more time to the church. Moreover, I should become involved in activities at the nearby Community Center. I am interested in the Art Class held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, and I would like to learn some conversational Spanish. As well, I would enjoy becoming a part of beneficial community projects.
Reading, writing and watching movies (and "Gunsmoke" episodes) are all rewarding and enjoyable solo pursuits but, by jupiter, one should also get out there and socialize. It will broaden your horizons and bring more variety to your life. Yes,indeed.
By the way: Only make one New Year's Resolution- one that you are fairly sure you can keep. If you retain one virtue each year, it's a healthy storehouse of wisdom and experience for your golden years. ZENO
