Funny they make us believe the vary poor are the prablum while they give trillions to the filthy rich. The Koch brothers make 60 billion a year and republicans gave them a tax brake and gave us 2.7 trillion in debt !

You are quoting 33% of these recipients are people that are non-disabled and probably able to take care of themselves. A very large percentage of the children that are in need of SNAP, are children that are of parents that could support them but refuse to work. Why should they work when the American taxpayer hands them a living every month?? I live in deep South
Texas, and see it every day. I went to high school with most of them. I know them and they will not work, but enjoy having those children. Each child means they will receive more SNAP!!!! We need to change the rules and police the rules we have...

I know there are people getting assistance that are milking the system, not unlike Scott Pruitt or Zinke or Mnuchin or many other Swamp Things. The financial crisis of 2008 turned a lot of hard-working and decent people lives upside down. Do not think the profound effect of that is over for many Americans. Welfare Queens are there, at about 2% on the rolls. They are not representative of welfare recipients. Children, the elderly, and disabled are. Let me hear one Republican cite them as a need for cutting back welfare.

44% are children. To put it another, more heartbreaking way, 17.6 million children need SNAP assistance every month.
21% are elderly or disabled people
22% are non-elderly, non-disabled people with children
13% are non-elderly, non-disabled people

17.6 million children "in the land of the free and the home of the brave," "the city on a hill," the world's most prosperous nation, need--need!--government assistance to survive. Limit or cut this program is not the America I imagined. Those kids are not Reagan's "welfare queens" or "young bucks" : they look nothing like the images the Right always conjures when looking to cut assistance. Neither are the 21% elderly and disabled who are also affected by these cuts that the Right portray those on welfare as "bottom-feeders" and "shiftless."

Minimum wage is entry level. That's what you pay someone while they learn to do something worth paying for.

Since you are so well meaning and concerned for all these poor children I suggest that you vote for a Government that will come to you, who will apparently be happy to give them money that you could otherwise use to take care of your family.

But do tell them not to come to my house for money since I need all of that to take care of my family and responsibilities, so that they don't end up needing "snap".

when the minimum wage act was passed Roosevelt said any company who existed by paying less than a living wage had no place in America

Then there is no reason to give anyone a pay raise, is there? There are many people working today who are not worth minimum wage. Hell, they should be paying their employers for not firing them.
There is no law that says you have to make a career out of a minimum wage job. You may be stuck in one temporarily. If you feel you are worth more than minimum wage, find an employer who agrees with you. There are all sorts of ways to improve your education so you will be worth more than that.
About Roosevelt, he said all sorts of things. Some true, some not.

Yes and back then we didn't have Walmart selling Chinese products, Japan making cars and "shithole" countries making our clothes.
