NFL did not do a damn thing right. Players can stay in locker room.

No more NFL, no more buying from their advertisers. I hope at some point all the spoiled brats go broke & have to find a job.

Kapernick should have been fired on day one for his pig socks. Seems like they have been swept under the rug.

Yesterday, a police officer in her late 20’s responded to disturbance call, apparently walked into a drug deal, was shot & then was run over.

All these fancy domes would make great housing for inner city homeless. All cities that build them lose money on them so they could cut their expenses using them for housing.

The NFL spread this disease all the way to peewee football teams. Nothing they do can make up for that.

I agree, the commissioner only made this move because of all the boycotts, the NFL is losing its audience.

Rah! Rah! the corrosion of the First Amendment. Bravo! At our next Fourth of July Parade you better have a flag and wave it enthusiastically. The Trump State will be watching. And take off your hat when the flag passes...or else. Keep your kids in line; no horsing around or fusing during our anthem. Again, we are watching. And no tacos; franks or burgers only. Or do you harbor or agree with protecting immigrants? A traitor to our heritage.

We must be vigilant. Report any suspicious behavior, like talking to and being friendly with Brown people; we have corrupted liberal elements in this nation that see no harm in this behavior to seduce their partisan favor. It is a lie. They want to take over the US of A. Blind Liberals cannot see the enormous threat.

The 1st amendment does not apply in this instance.

"The NFL players’ protests around the National Anthem remind us that the First Amendment applies, as a matter of law, only to government action. Employees of private companies don’t have constitutional rights against their employers. Therefore, professional athletes don’t have a First Amendment right to protest at games. Teams can take actions against players, subject to contract provisions and union agreements."

In Pickering v. Board of Education, 391 U.S. 563 (1968), for the first time, the Supreme Court established a balancing test to be used in assessing the Constitutional legitimacy of public employer restrictions on employee speech. While recognizing that public employers had a critical interest in maintaining an efficient and effective workplace, with harmonious relationships between employees and supervisors, the Court held that interest had to be weighed against the public employee’s interest in speaking as a citizen on matters of public concern. The public employer could be permitted to impose restrictions on the employee’s speech on matters of public concern only if it could demonstrate that the employee’s comments were inimical to its interests in maintaining harmony among coworkers (particularly those having daily contact with the employee).

Now if the employer can't prove harm to the workplace and coworkers then the employer better be prepared to fork over a whole lot of money because he has no right to suppress his employees first amendment rights if they don't...

Employers run businesses, right? Businesses are in business to make money, right? In order to do that, businesses need customers to make money and stay in business, right? Employers would be foolish not to do what is necessary to maintain harmony in their workforce. This is vital to maintaining a good relationship with customers. However, when employees take it upon themselves to offend customers, it is detrimental to the primary purpose of being in business. Employees working in a private business are not protected by the 1st amendment. The Constitution’s right to free speech only applies when the government is trying to restrict it.

And you say that even though the Supreme Court says otherwise? Blade there is a time when you've gnawed on a bone long enough and I am pretty sure this is it. I am fairly certain that a Supreme Court ruling negates anything you have to say. And only some of the customers were offended Blade, not all--once again you people think you are all of this country. And if the flag is more important than the constitution then don't you think we've gotten it all wrong? What did you fight for--so people could be forced to pay the type of respect you approve of for the flag? When you took your oath where did it say that?

Attendance in 2016 was 34,341,277 *and in 2017 it was 34,511,519 and ratings for 2016 declined by 8.9% over the previous year so 2017's 9.7% decline is more in line with a trend line already set.

If your argument is that the NFL has to pander to you Nationalistic bigots otherwise they are going to lose money it's not supported in the numbers so if you want to keep chewing on the same bone you need find a different approach...

And since LA only showed 9 games for 2016 I adjusted their numbers based on the season average they had. Without the adjustment 2017 would be 600K better but a misrepresentation of what actually occurred...

This has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment.

I thought you would at least put up a somewhat arguable argument.

The NFL doesn't allow coaches to gripe about bad calls. Players can't wear unauthorized logos.

There are plenty of things I don't allow employees to say at my company.

Have you ever had a job working for someone else where you had no speech restrictions?

You lefties only want this freedom of speech because it's anti-American.

Freedom of speech is in the First Amendment to the Constitution? Is your argument that the Constitution is un-American?

So what plenty of things don't you allow your employees to say? And I've never had an employer place a speech restriction on me nor did I ever place any speech restrictions on my employees.

If you are going to accuse someone of not putting up an arguable argument should you put up one yourself?
