I have two very difficult tasks on my plate. Very difficult and little chance of reward. Is this where one says , soldier on?
The phuquing steering gear box has become a killer. Very little else to do to put this truck back on the road. However, steering is critical.
Finding remedy in law and equity is also very difficult.

That is an awesome truck. One of my grandsons drives one almost equally awesome to school. The biggest problem with his ...eight miles to a gallon.

Rebuild the steering box. I have a 74 Chevy 4X4. Though not as old as yours it had a lot of options. You just have to get creative. Just put front bushings on the front springs. It took over a week to find some that half way fit. Last year I rebuilt the tilt steering column. I had to use the ball bearings out of one of my kids old bike. There is also companies that cater to these old trucks. Try LMC Trucks. Look them up on line and they will send you a catalog for your truck free of charge. That truck is to straight to let die.
