Today, I placed my Glock pistol on the table right next to my front door. I left its clip beside it, then left it alone and went about my business.

While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor's son across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the "stop" sign near the front of my house.

After about an hour, I checked on the gun and it was quietly sitting there, right where I had left it. It had not moved itself outside. It had not killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do that. In fact, it had not even loaded itself.

Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and the media, about how dangerous guns are and "How They" kill people. Either the media is wrong, or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the world. But if you take out just 5 'left-wing' cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St Louis and New Orleans -- the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the ENTIRE world, for murders.

These 5 cities are controlled by Democrats. They also have the toughest gun control laws in the USA. It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data, right?

Well, I'm off to check on my spoons. I hear they're making people fat!

The US is NOT "3rd in murders in the world." We are not even in the top 25. Our murder rate is the lowest in North and South America with the exception of Canada. Chile is just about tied with us. Every other country in South and Central America has a higher murder rate than we do. As a matter of fact, Mexico, with it's Draconian gun laws, has five times our murder rate. They have one third of our population and had twice as many murders going strictly by numbers. Our murder rate is around 5:100,000. Mexico's is nearly 20:100,000. Jamaica, where possession of one round of ammo is an automatic jail term, has a murder rate of 39:100,000.
There are 3142 counties or their equivalents (such as parishes in LA) in the US. In 54% of them, there were no murders at all last year. Over half of our murders occurred in 2% of the counties. Let's take AL for an example. They have a fairly high murder rate, yet almost all of them occur in metro Birmingham. The rest of the state is one of the safest places in the country.
In my own state of Georgia, our murder rate of about 6:100,000 is almost exclusively confined to metro Atlanta, Macon and Savannah. These three metro areas contain about 35% of the population and more than 90% of the murders.
You are correct in your statement that most of our murders occur in a handful of cities.

There is an epidemic going on, mine doesnโ€™t do anything but brood in the safe with my rebellious AR and its friends. Even the sig just wants to lay around and collect dust like a politician! I would get rid of them but theyโ€™re the only thing I can count on for protection, the guns that is, not the politicians. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿพ

I do agree that any weapon without a round in the chamber is useless. My weapons are not useless. And to head off any yelling, it is only my wife and me at home, and she is good with having protection.

The trouble is once and a while an industrious citizen gets a hold of a lazy gun and kills thirty or forty of his fellow citizens.

Not sure what you can do about that lazy gun. I hear the left swears by training, anger management, sensitivity, diversity awareness. I haven't heard of a program for lazy guns or aggressive spoons, but maybe in the not too distant future

Isn't it funny how almost every one of those once-in-a-whiles happens in a lazy-gun-free-zone? (Where said industrious citizen is unlikely to be killed right back?)

If I ever encounter Mr. Industrious Citizen, he will learn a lesson the hard way.

I know. When someone tried to kill me years ago, I tried to kill them right back. While neither of us was successful, one of us, (not me) is sporting a couple of holes they weren't issued. One reason I am so opposed to gun control. So much of it is proposed by people who have no idea what they are talking about.

I'm glad things turned out the way they did.

My gun sleeps with me. My home care nurse "mother nurse" wants me to sleep "naked" I told hell no!

My faithful weapon has slept with and protected me going on fifty year's now and i don't intend to start sleeping naked any time soon.

God bless America and the President
