The Need for Christian Apologetics today.

America is at a triple cross-road and crisis

!. Western civilization is for the first time in its history in danger of dying. The reason is spiritual. It is losing its life, its soul; that soul was the Christian faith. The infection killing it is not multiculturalism--- other faiths----but the monoculturalism of secularism----no faith, no soul. Our century has been marked by genocide, sexual chaos, and money-worship. Unless all the prophets are liars, we are doomed unless we repent and "turn back the clock" (not technologically but spiritually). The Church of Christ (not the denomination) will never die, but our civilization will.

If the gates of hell will not prevail against the church, this world certainly won't. We do apologetics not to save the church but to save the world.

2. We are not only in a civil, cultural crisis but also a philosophical, intellectual one. Our crisis is "a crisis of truth'" (to use Ralph Martin's title).
Increasingly, the very idea of objective truth is being ignored, abandoned or attacked---not only in practice but even in theory, directly and explicitly, especially by the educational and media establishments, who mold our minds
.
3. Finally, the deepest level of our crisis is not cultural or intellectual but spiritual. At stake are the eternal souls of men and women for whom Christ died. Some think the end is near. (There are always questions surrounding this subject and predictions.while the writer believes in the return of Jesus he does not believe in setting dates or times.) However, it is a fact that each individual is nearing the end, death and eternal judgment, every day.

Our civilization may last for another century or more but we as individuals will not. we will soon stand naked in the light of God. All had better learn and love to seek that light while there is still time so that it will be our joy and not fear forever.

It is unfashionable today to put such things as this in writing today----
that alone should give everyone an indication and speak volumes about the spiritual condition and sanity of our ostrichlike age.

As Israel celebrates its 70th Birthday since it became a new nation, prophecy scholars celebrate with Israel and the fulfillment of the prophecy that not one generation shall pass and the prophecies of Jesus fulfilled, the end of the church age and beginning of "Jacob's Troubles".
In previous years of dramatic events, terrorism, lives lost Americans turned to God, but now they turn the channel to their favorite reality TV show.
In previous years pews were filled with people seeking answers and to pray and worship God, but now pastors that once filled pews to hear answers through the word of God, pastors have scheduled gay weddings, they comprised the word of God giving the people with itching ears, words they want to hear other than the gospel of Jesus.
Our nation while still filled with many Christians, the greatest generations of Christians in their sunset years replaced with generations that curse God, hiding from their sins, putting themselves as rulers of their lives.
Our nation by many cries out for justice, the return to God because our nation has turned to a nation were justice is defined by political beliefs, rejecting God

Thumbs up to both posts. Now more than ever we need good Christian apologists.

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)

In the few months since you posted your message of warning here, how much farther have we continued to fall, as a culture, as a civilization, as a nation, and as a people?

“It is imperative that one’s belief about God be true to the Scriptures, God’s only written revelation concerning Himself, since our beliefs affect everything from how we relate to Him and what He expects of us, to where we will spend eternity.

"What think ye of Christ?" (Matthew 22:42.) We should be consumed with Christ —

That question is as penetrating today as when Jesus used it to confound the Pharisees almost two thousand years ago. Like a sword, sharp and powerful, it uncovers what is hidden, divides truth from error, and goes to the heart of religious belief.

Is the Jesus of first-century Israel the Promised One? No name has been the object of more attention, devotion, and at the same time controversy than that of Jesus Christ.

He is the creator of the universe, the only begotten Son of God, and the Bible declares Him to be the King over all Kings and Lord of all. We honor men of great stature, men who are given great authority and men who accomplish great things. But the one truly deserving of honor is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 14:11 “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

In the hour, when death shall open the door into eternity – many things which now assume an ‘air of importance’, will be found as light and unsubstantial as a child’s dream!

In John 5:18-23, Jesus established three things.

First, that all men should honor the Son of God as much as they honor God, the Father because Jesus claimed equality with God.
Second, if a person refuses to honor Jesus as such, then he also refuses to honor the Father, because Jesus is the only approach to the Father.
If a person rejects God, the Son, he also rejects God, the Father.

If God does not know by His foreknowledge what every person will think and do by their free will, then He is not God. Moreover, the fact that God is able to allow man freedom of choice while still effecting His eternal purposes unhindered is all the more glorifying to His sovereign wisdom, power and foreknowledge.”

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams" (Acts 2:17). We are living in the last days. The last days began on the day of Pentecost. It was on that day that the apostle Peter confirmed the words spoken by the prophet Joel. The time had come when God would interact with and through all who turned to Him.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy." The word "prophesy" in the original text means to declare truths through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

...and now the Lord has reserved the best for last...

As grandparents, God gives us the power to speak into the lives of the next generation. He gives us the wisdom to tell them what God is going to do, according to His word; the plans that He has - when we take the time to pray.

Let us ask of the next generation: "Have you honored Christ by making the good confession? That confession must be made before you can be baptized into Christ and receive pardon from your sins."

"Today, you give great honor to Jesus Christ when you, unreservedly and unashamedly, are willing to make that good confession to an unbelieving world:

that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay the debt owed in full for your sins. and thus surrender your life in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in none other."

There is power in our speech when we walk with God and our heart is not about ourselves and our own comfort, rather, our hearts are toward our children and our grandchildren; toward other children whom God has put under our influence. As we are thinking about them, praying for them, living for them, God's presence flows through our life. As the time, approaches, these are the dreams that old men begin to dream!

Jesus said that if we deny Him before men, He will deny us before the Father (Matthew 10:33).
