Poppa Gringo in his very early days(That was a long time ago folks)was Captain on a ship of the US Navy
One day while patrolling off the coast of No Carolina
his crew spotted a pirate ship sailing directly at them
Captain Papa calmly told his first mate"bring me my red shirt"
So they fought the pirate ship and were victorious
then later that day two pirate ships were spotted coming directly toward them
now the crew was scared because they knew they were badly outnumbered,but Captain Poppa just told the mate "go bring me my red shirt"
the battle was long and furious,and again Captain Poppa and his crew were victorious
that night as Captain Poppa and his crew rested and smoked their pipes and drank tequila
the crew asked Captain Poppa why he always wore the red shirt as his ship entered the battle
Captain Poppa replied
"I wear the red shirt so that if I am injured in battle the blood won't show and you men will not be discouraged,and will fight on"
The crew was proud to be Captained by such a brave ,gallant man such as Captain Poppa Gringo
and they celebrated half that night away
early the next morning the crew spotted not two but four pirate ships heading directly toward them
the crew was petrified but they would fight because they had such a brave Captain as Poppa Gringo
the mate asked Captain Poppa if he should bring him the red shirt
but Captain Poppa said
"No, bring me my brown pants"

And shortly thereafter they transferred Poppa Gringo to the
Marines where he remained for the remainder of his career.
And that is how you fail the Navies entrance exam.
