Liberals are going crazy because special counsel Robert Mueller, who has been investigating nonexistent collusion between Donald Trump and the Russians, indicted 13 Russians for meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Well, that’s not exactly true. He got a grand jury to indict these Russian for trying but failing to influence the election. I’m not a fancy attorney or big time prosecutor, but I fail to see how any of this is a crime.

Here’s Fox News with the big nothing story:

A federal grand jury on Friday indicted 13 Russians and three Russian companies for allegedly interfering in the 2016 presidential election, in a case brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that detailed a sophisticated plot to wage “information warfare” against the U.S.

The Russian nationals are accused of setting a “strategic goal to sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election.”

It sounds sinister until you get to this:

…the DOJ made clear that the indictment does not allege that any of the interference changed the outcome of the presidential race.

“There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election,” said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

So these Russians did nothing? If you are going to charge people with meddling with an election, don’t they have to kind of meddle with the election?

Now here’s what Mueller claims these Russians did, which makes this even more ridiculous:

The defendants are accused of spreading derogatory information about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, denigrating Republican candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio — and ultimately supporting Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders and then-Republican candidate Donald Trump.

It says the defendants spread derogatory information about various candidates throughout the 2016 campaign and by “early to mid-2016” were supporting Trump’s presidential campaign.

In the lead up to the 2016 election, me and every other writer at Downtrend did nothing but write pro-Trump/anti-Hillary articles. Are we also guilty of meddling in the election? What about Breitbart or Fox News?

It actually manages to get sillier:

Rosenstein, though, said that after the election, the group worked both to stage rallies in favor of President-elect Trump and in opposition to his election.

Earlier I asked if it was necessary to actually meddle with an election to be charged with election meddling, but I know for a fact that if you are meddling after an election, you definitely didn’t meddle in the election. Wow, just wow.

Like I said, I fail to even see a crime here, mostly because a crime wasn’t committed. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton rigged the democratic primaries to ensure she’d get the nomination and then colluded with a foreign government to deceive the FBI into spying on Donald Trump’s campaign. If they are going to hand out indictment for meddling in the election, it seems like Hillary would be a good place to start.

The actual biggest news about these indictments however is that you may have noticed none of it involves Trump or any of his associates colluding with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton, which is the stated purpose of Robert Mueller’s investigation. Even the rabid Trump-hating media has to realize there is nothing to the Trump/Russia story at this point.

For NOTHING in particular but a way to start shutting this mess down!!
It has done more damage to the dems and DNC than they ever expected to come out!!

Mueller knows they are treading on thin ice and this is the beginning to make it look good as he winds down this supposed investigatoon of Trump.

I have said from the beginning Mueller is the mole being used to keep tabs on those in his own circle that could go down and hard too!!

This investigation of Trump has done nothing but prove up many many, many, illegal actions by the dem party which is slowly being shown just how under handed they are at all cost..
As I said in another post, he was put in place for damage control.. Now charges of all those involved dems Or Republicans need to come out as well!!

What a pathetic travesty this is to our country before all other world leaders!! And what a hell of an education we gave them on how we spy on others or hack computers and the damn misfit criminal leaders of the FBI !!!They should go down hard !!

My thoughts exactly. What did they do but the same thing so many here in the states were doing. Somehow or the other, they did this to make cash. They gave not one rats ass about who won.

And you are all fools if you believe Mueller's investigation is about to end with more indictments to come! Mueller has just begun and is still actively investigating the collusion between Trump and Russia! Mueller will expose all the incriminating evidence just before the Nov. midterms. You know just like Comey did with Hillary just a week before the last presidential election!
