Larry the Legend Loc: Not hiding in Milton

As we all know, statistics can be made to confirm just about anything in the proper hands. Adding media bias to the mix produces a whole different animal. News media projects considerable influence over the daily lives of all of us. What if they're all working together? Well, if a media campaign looks coordinated, it probably is.

http://www.thedailybell.com/news-analysis/4-complaints-about-gun-owners-debunked/

"Between 2007 and 2015, murder rates fell from 5.6 to 4.7 (preliminary estimate) per 100,000. This represents a 16% drop. Overall violent crime fell by 18 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of adults with permits has soared by 190%."

Imagine that. Yeah, imagine that.

You know, Larry, I'm a simple thinking kinda guy.
So, if I figure the dog might bite me, I ain't opening the gate on him.
I also figure that if the man/woman might drag iron on me, I'm not gonna bother them.

It ain't all that complicated to figure out.

You're right, Archie, it ain't. So why do these idiots have so much trouble getting the point? And why are they so quick to jump on the lamest ideas? Is it because they can't even rise to the level of 'not that complicated'?

You know we spend a lot of time insulting and demonizing democrats. When the truth is we should be pitying them. They are that segment of the population that are easily programmed and desire to be part of what they perceive as the "correct thinking ". When tjey do have an independent thought outside the narrative they quickly shut it down. Personally I'm glad to be a free thinking person without the need to think just like everyone else. Just follow the ten commandments and help where I can but have an active BS meter. Just sayin.....

Pity is a fine thing, except when the pitiful fool is impacting your life and how you live it. If they were just screwing themselves then yes, pity the fool by all means. But they vote! They vote for the most outrageous people and send them to muss up everyone else's setup. That's why they get no pity from me, only ridicule.

I honestly don't have an answer for that. But the people who do the most to promote these ideas have walls around their houses, and armed security as deterrents. We can't all afford, or don't want walls, and armed security. We can take care of that ourselves. But, there is a large part of our population that thinks that the federal government controlling all of us from DC is the be all, end all answer to every problem.
Unless you want to smoke pot.

I have no sympathy for them. They claim to be "live and let live" as long as you live how they tell you to live.

Let's be real. You do realize that both political/ideological camps have that same opinion of the other while convinced they are correct

I tried that once. No thanks. I guess I'm just not made to be a 'pothead'. Same with alcohol, though I do enjoy a good dark rum now and again.

This is true. It seems to me that it has gotten a lot worse in the last several years. Can we blame it on technology, yeah, I think so. We have more access to more information than ever before. The problem is sorting out the truth from the outright lies, opinion, and spin.
To me it's like we, the voters are the kids caught up in an ugly divorce between two political parties.

And I feel like a step-child with red hair!

Good analogy, my friend. Coming from a politically eclectic family, after becoming adults it took us years to accept our differences. It is a big reason why I remain fairly moderate/centrist in my views, while respecting those of others...as best I can, anyway.
