Is trump still trying??

Only an orange dumpster would be keeping tabs..

The TV-viewing figures for President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address are in, and he’s not winning.

Trump averaged around 45.6 million viewers during his 80-minute speech to Congress and a TV audience on Tuesday night, according to media research company Nielsen, which collated data from 12 broadcast and cable networks.

That’s a 2.1 million dip from the 47.7 million people who watched Trump’s inaugural address to a joint session of Congress in 2017, and was lower than the number of people who watched former President Barack Obama’s speeches on similar occasions.

Obama scored 52.3 million for his inaugural address to a joint session of Congress in 2009, and just over 48 million for his first State of the Union speech in 2010.

Viewing figures for the State of the Union speech usually decline during a president’s time in office. Obama’s final speech in 2016 was only seen by 31.3 million people.

Trump has not fared well in comparison to Obama in other areas in recent months.

At the end of the 2017, three of Obama’s tweets made Twitter’s “most retweeted” list, and two appeared in the “most liked” category. Trump failed to feature on either list.

Obama also edged out Trump as America’s “Most Admired Man,” according to a Gallup poll in December.

Why tune in to listen to a serial liar? The Pumpkinfuhrer talked about going after drug companies for gouging Americans a day after his appointment to head Health and Human Services is sworn in. He is an Ely Lilly executive who was in charge of setting the outragious prices. The lying and hypocrisy out of Trump is beyond the pale, and his sycophantic followers eat the BS hook line and sinker.

Our President is not a great orator, he is much like the average person. His delivery can be flat and at time seem without passion. People like to watch showmen, the ones who can read a teleprompter and interject the "appropriate" emotions, the people like obama. He could certainly read well and he was a "actor" of a certain nature. He fooled many people into thinking that he cared. And the sad thing, I believe that President Trump does care about all Americans and he is not in the White House to be remembered as a showman. Yes, I do wish that his speeches were more entertaining, but I will take his love, concern and accomplishments over those that could entertain and make me temporarily feel good.

Anyway, thanks for the article.

I very much disagree, Trump is nothing if not a showman. He is a reality TV star who has created his own persona. He expertly whipped his sycophantic fans into a frenzy at his staged political rally’s. He plays to whatever audience he is entertaining

Maybe a lot of people who received the poll were either Trump haters, or had to get up, and go to work, or just didn't fill out the poll like I always do when I receive one.

Yeah, Obama's speeches were all about Obama, in one 30 minute speech he referred to himself every 13.7 seconds, saying "I", "me", "my" one hundred and seventeen times. Obama didn't speak to the American people, he talked down at them.

OTH, during Trump's rather long SOTU speech, he used the personal pronoun around twenty times, he spent most of the time speaking to and about the American people.

Actually, he spoke about himself.. And made claims that his tax, trade and deregulation were for the American people and not for his super rich friends..

Sure, Trump is a despicable 'showman'. Nothing like the black guy prez with all the TV show appearances, the Marx-style posters everywhere, the cadre of photogs snapping his wet, nearly-nekked body while on one of his fifty or so very public HI vacations.. Yah, that there Trump sure is a showman, alright. Yup.

It was fun to tune in to ovommit's speeches just to see and hear a con man tell more lies about how great he was for our country. We bet on how many times ovommit would use "I" in his speeches and I would always go high and win a lot of money. Every speech he gave would top the previous one with lies, rhetoric and hate America blasphemy. That is why he had an audience, people wanted to see how much hatred this imposter had in his heart and he never failed to let us down. Once the memo is released ovommits popularity will wane and be shot down like a Russian mig being shot down by an American fighter pilot. It is going to be tough to follow the POS when he and Hitlery are locked away in prison for their treasonous activity and the only people following ovommit then will be the prison cell homosexuals.
