Today we were kind of busy.
Today in 1620, the Pilgrims landed in what was to become Taxachusetts.
Today in 1865, the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery was finally adopted into the US constitution.
Today in 1886, baseball legend Ty Cobb was born.
Today in 1888, a couple of guys named Weatherill and Mason claimed to have "discovered" Mesa Verde, CO. (Considering that the place was familiar to Indians, trappers and ranchers for decades, that took a lot of gall.)
Today in 1916, the fraud called Piltdown Man was discovered.
Today in 1946, Steven Speilberg was born.
