I cannot believe that no one has commented on this yet; it history no longer taught? Today is the 76th anniversary of the day that will live in infamy. Today in 1941, the US Naval base at Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, precipitating our active entry into WWII.

Sorry, Loki, I was only a few months old at the time, and have no clear recollection of the event , ...and no, history is hardly being taught today.

In subject priorities, Radical Ideology and the choices between 72 or so sexual genders are within the preeminent school of thought.

Perhaps OPP's more accomplished historian's are late sleepers, and will yet chime in.

One fact that is seldom mentioned about the attack on Pearl Harbor is that the final wave of attacks was cancelled,

due the heroic defence of the port, the Japanese commander felt that his losses would be unacceptably high.

That final attack was to be on the oil storage facilities. Had such attack been carried out successfully,

the Pacific Fleet would have been helpless throughout 1942.

Read about GA congressman Carl Vinson and you'll learn a lot more about Pearl Harbor and WWII and how we won the war thanks to him.

I am going to Hawaii Dec 28th thru Jan 10th and have been reading up on Pearl Harbor in anticipation of seeing it again..
It rips my heart out if truth be known.. As I read the pride I have for all there is summed up with this constant thought~~

Those were some true hero’s and patriots!!! None better!!!!!!!! None like them!!

Thank You for remembering their sacrifices!!!

That's a nice warm place to spend some winter days. I always wished I could get stationed at Hickam AFB.

Have a wonderful trip and don't let Dog the Bounty Hunter catch you. Wear your shades.

LOKI,

I went around asking people what happened on this day in 1941? I don’t remember one person getting it right. We have nothing but a bunch of DODO Birds walking the streets of America. It is sad!

What we have are the progressive left that try and quash the history of this great Nation.. Just as they did with the statutes as if that really changes anything.....

They don’t believe in war you know..

Moron teachers can't even read or actually do math . Most people now don't even know how to turn the page of a book .
