One fact that is seldom mentioned about the attack on Pearl Harbor is that the final wave of attacks was cancelled,
due the heroic defence of the port, the Japanese commander felt that his losses would be unacceptably high.
That final attack was to be on the oil storage facilities. Had such attack been carried out successfully,
the Pacific Fleet would have been helpless throughout 1942.
