BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Bloomington police have identified two people they say were stabbed during an "interrupted theft" in a Macy's dressing room at the Mall of America.
Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said at 6:44 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to Macy's on a report of a stabbing. Potts said a suspect had gone into a dressing room in the men's department and attempted to steal some property.
When the person returned to the dressing room after trying on clothes, police said the suspect produced a knife. Potts said during the confrontation, the suspect stabbed the victim.
Potts said the victim's family members went in to help, and a second victim sustained a knife wound. He said the family members were able to disarm the suspect, and officers arrived shortly after to take the suspect into custody.

Potts said two adult male victims were brought to the hospital. Alexander Sanchez, 19, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his face and upper body, and remains at HCMC, according to police.
John Sanchez, 25, was treated for stab wounds to his upper body and has been released from HCMC, Bloomington police say.
Potts said the suspect had "minor, superficial wounds" and was transported to jail.
Macy's was locked down temporarily, but police did not lock down the whole mall, according to Potts. He said officers arrived within one to two minutes after the call.
